"I enjoy surviving." Yes, well I certainly hope so as the other side of that is "DEATH!"

I think we all did it. Fork and screwdriver were my weapons of choice (yeah, sometimes it takes me a while to figure things out). I wonder how we survived without all of those child safety thingies.

It took me awhile to find some of my old friends from the ST site. I wish someone would have gave us all a heads up before killing the site. I wish there was a way to let everyone else know where we have roosted. I was just plain "ratshooter" over there. Someone else has my old name here.

Hey cowgirl, I do believe I have the ultimate food item to give us a superboost to make the team, it's called JERKKY! There aren't too many people who'd turn us down to get their hands on this tasty treat. I just made a large batch as Mother's Day gifts.

Only if it's made with Twinkies and bacon, otherwise Rick won't bother!

    I had bacon sammiches tonight.

Hey Cajunlady, here's my world famous jerky recipe. Don't share it though 'cause it's top secret!!!

    Beef Jerky
    2 lbs. of flank steak
    2/3 cup of soy sauce
    2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons of seasoning salt (recommend Lawry's)
Slice flank steak diagonally with the grain of the meat into very thin slices (If slightly frozen it slices more easily). Combine ingredients and marinate meat overnight or 12 hours. Be sure all pieces are covered (coated) with marinade. Drain excess marinade. Place meat on paper towels to soak up marinade. Meat should be squeezed as dry as possible in paper towels. Place individual pieces of meat on rack in oven at 140 to 160 degrees for seven to 12 hours, or until meat is dry throughout. Leave oven door ajar (slightly open) during the drying process. Meat can also be hung in the oven by placing a wooden toothpick in each piece and strung from the rack. Store finished jerky in an airtight container. It keeps for several months, but it is likely that it will be consumed by the master hunter, kids, or the cook within a few days.

Fine. So I refer to it as a hong. It's a well known fact amongst highly trained warrior killer men that a "hong" is proper attire when preparing to enter combat, performing HALO missions, underwater demolition, LLRP missions, Ninja or simply just wannabes. If you've never heard of wearing a "hong" under these conditions then you obviously were never trusted enough to be a TRUE highly trained warrior killer man. It's even possible these highly trained warrior killer men were all around you at some given time and you didn't know it, couldn't see them and they could have snuffed you out at a moments notice. Why, just seeing one is enough to put you off food for a while. As it happens....ahem....I am one of the aforementioned individuals. Mom even gave me a certificate that says I'm certifiable. Anyway, I do happen to have one picture of said attire. The boots and hat complete the combat wardrobe.

After all.....you did ask. If you can't handle the answer don't ask the question.
