guns are evil, an individual owning a gun is a indication of mental disease. Why the heck would a "normal" person "need" a gun?

Sarky - Would you take some calm down pills or something? Hokey smokes. It has nothing to do with this administration. Some doctors just don't have a moral compass. Here, read through this and then tell me it started with this administration. Pay particular attention to the Human Radiation Experiments then tell me how bad we have it today.

Yeah, but now-a-days, if one bedwetting liberal doctor thinks you are a danger, he puts that bit of "info" into the "system", and now you are permanitly labeled as such. (You know....so you will be healthier because all of your "medical" records are in the computer, for others to get at faster.)

    A little confused.
How can a cardiologist deem you "mental defective"?
Could he tell from the prepper's heart?lol

A cardiologist is a physician who is certified to treat problems of the cardiovascular system—the heart, arteries, and veins. Cardiology is classified as an internal medicine subspecialty. Knowledge of internal medicine.

I did not watch the show. I had no interest in it due to the speculation that they had simply found a bunch of mental defectives and interviewed them to prove their point, that anyone that would fall for the "prepper doctrine" had to be a nut. That is the general theme of these "reports".

Perhaps this will serve as a warning to anyone wishing to reply to the numerous casting calls we get here at WSF.

Has it occurred to anyone that putting your preps/weapons on display IS an indication of mental defect? The old "Nobody's business but my own" attitude may be true but it went out with the reseruction of the Soviet "See Something Say Something" policy. Keed your crap to yourself!

You need to also keep in mind that Tennessee is a "test state". It is the state in the south that is used to test liberal policy, just like MA in the north. If there is a liberal agenda available they will be the first to institute it, and they will do it with a splash. They receintly allowed the TSA to stage sweeps on the highways including random searches of vehicles at rest stops. This was done to see how much public outcry would result so the TSA could guage the readiness of the nation for their intrusions. TN cooperated in full.

The authorities in TN often overstep the boundries just to see if they can get away with it. If this happens in TN it will set the precident in many other states because the Attourney Generals all watch that state. TN is always one of the last states to institute any conservitive law or back the decisions broadening the liberites of the individual.

And, as late as 2003, when I moved away from the unGodly place, 20% of their county sheriffs and local police departments were under federal investigation for one form of corruption or another.

It sounded like the guy said that he'd rather be dead, than live a certain way. The doctor called that suicidal. It is probably a CYA thing for doctors. If you even joke about it, they would probably commit you. If they don't, and you off yourself, they family could sue the doc, saying that he should have done something and didn't, thus costing your life.

It's probably about like joking about a bomb, in an airport.

    Well, yeah...but....

Do y'all remember me saying that I had to get myself in shape, 'cuz my doctor wanted to call me diabetic? He actually gave me a prescription for blood pressure and one for blood sugar. I took them for about a week, and by that time my changed habits got things back to OK, and I no longer needed the pills. (My doctor agreed.) Mind you, my doctor had told me to watch my blood sugar, before he gave me the pills, as I was getting close to the limit. I didn't have a rise in blood sugar. The limit that doctors use changed. Thats when he gave me the pills. A week later I was below that number. (And still am.)

OK. Fast forward a year or so. I had scaled back my business, times where kinda tight, so I changed my health ins. policy. The new policy I went with was less than half the price of my old policy. (I went with a real high deductible.) When my policy came back from underwriting, they asked about the pills fop bp and sugar. I told them that I didn't need them and the doctor agreed. The ins. company said that they were going to consider my as a diabetic with high bp, and tripled the cost of my ins.

So, you see, even though my doctor says that I don't need those meds, the ins. company still rates me as if I do, because it is in a computer somewhere, that I got those pills. I guess the ins. company knows more than my doctor. LOL

Well, If you own guns and have a DNR order; are you mentally defective?
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

The past meds on the record--even though you're not taking them now--would suggest a pre-exsisting condition (which you no longer have) that is not supposed to be considered and held against you. You might have a case, 2D.

The agent told me that I could appeal the underwriters call. They said I needed to get my docotrs office to fax a year and a halfs worth of my medical records to the ins company, to prove my point.

It was about that time that I closed my business and went to work for someone else. The new job came with company paid for health ins. I told my ins. agent to tell the underwriters to kiss my arse. LOL

Not true, B. If you are self insured or are part of a "small group" (2-50 employees) then pre-existing conditions are left to the States to define. Most States have implemented some type of legislation since ERISSA passed but it depends on the individual State. The HIPAA act extended some restrictions on pre-existing for group plans (more than 50 employees).

I quit drinking any alcohol, ate right and went to work that summer throwing hay with my father after work and weekends.

You can have significant impact on your health numbers. Loose weight, change your diet or just have excellent genetics. The body begins to respond almost immediately as many on here can attest. As a specie, we're pretty remarkable at adaptation.
