Just days after appearing on the National Geographic TV Show Doomsday Prepper, a prepper from Tennessee has been declared Mentally Defective and his guns have been seized by the government.

Yeah...but it still scares me, that it only takes one person to label you, and one person to agree with them, to take away your rights.

I haven't watched the show Doomsday Preppers, but it was my guess (as well as several others) that the show was going to set out to make at least some of the participants look like nut jobs. Looks like they're succeeding.

Sartii did a pretty good job making himself look like a whacko before the show came along. His Youtube vids are something from the Twilight Zone. In one, he has a pair of underwear hanging from a chandelier in his house. All that aside....I don't understand how a cardiologist has the credentials to declare anyone mentally unfit. You can bet your booty I'd find the money for a lawyer somewhere and the state and that cardiologist would have a legal fight on their hands.

When you paint yourself into a corner you have few to blame but yourself. Had I not lost all my guns and ammo in those terrible canoe accidents I would be thinking about caching some.

People who are mentally unstable are no more likely to commit a crime with a firearm than drunks who get behind a wheel are likely to get into an accident and kill someone.

I haven't seen the NG show but I watched Sarti on the OP link and on another youtube vid where he talks about his EMP preps. Based on only those 2, there's nothing particularly whacko about what he said; a little eccentric, but definitely not crazy, IMO. I've heard worse from seemingly "normal" people.

I never saw the show but I was aware of its existance. I remember the episode Rick mentioned, the one with underwear hanging on the chandelier and he's talking about his tactical vest and such. He struct me as odd then. But a cardiologist listing him as mentally defective is rediculous. I, too, would fight this in a legal battle.

As a side note, kinda makes you wonder if the NRA attorney supports that he is defective if they won't accept his case? Covering their own tale?

No, No No. Bubble gum for the mind is internet forums. TV is the machine for the mindless masses. It's harder to send subliminal (send me your money) messages on an (send me your money) internet forum. It's pretty (send me your money) easy on TV, however.
