Before you get your head bit off you may want to tell a bit about yourself. Age, location, skill level, etc. That would be a start. Welcome to the forum BTW.

Welcome here. Would you please define "intermediately skilled"? Thanks. At 13, I consider you a novice/beginner. There are people on this forum who have lived in the outdoors a lot longer than you've been alive. I'm not saying this to be mean. Knowing how to start a fire without matches is one thing; getting a dear friend to safety while they bleed out from an arterial wound is quite another. At 13 could you carry a 6 foot 3", 300 lb. adult out of the woods to safety? (That is the height & weight of my oldest son.) The school was a good choice, but along with that comes many, many years in the wilderness & learning "Bush-craft." Where have you practiced & for how long? You're only 13 & your body will be going through some changes over the next few years that will, for awhile, affect how you can react & move physically compared to what you've known in the past. It's called the"clumsy" stage and that's the reason why. You learn how to use the adult physical make-up that you'll be using the rest of your life.

Welcome from Alaska.......My advise, don't be proud, and don't run away just cause some big dog takes a nip at you.

It's just that there's always somethiong else to consider. "Intermediate" at 13? Just trying to teach, WE.

    Cool Ahh, memories...

I used to say "Welcome to the Wolf-Pack". However we've grown very much since then; we also have the Bear Clan & the Eagle....flock? (not sure on that one yet.) There might be more comin' on, but that remains to be seen.
