Hey, here is a cool link to a Bear id quiz. It is put-on by the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Dept to get your Bear hunting license. But it is also fun to take just to see how you do. Good Luck

I know my bears. Never hunted them, never seen one in the wild, I do however, know my bears.
whoa! congrats Frank, personally I shot one bear in my life, and I've always regretted it. Bear didn't deserve it, at the time I thought I was doing a service for people who lived in the area. I get to live and learn, that bear does not. No grizzlies in my part of the world but like you said, you know your bears.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"
Thanks.
We have bears across the street. I've found tracks, a bud was circled by one while turkey hunting, yeh, he got out of dodge fast.
I've been invited to hunt bears. I pers. would not shoot one. Not fond of the meat and the hide is just not that important. Many many years ago, I put 150 dollars on a downpayment for a Canadian black bear hunt, after considerable thought, I backed out and ate the cash.
Would like to see them, but at a safe distance. Most bears around here don't want anything to do with humans. We do have a good bear population in Georgia and many have been killed up in the higher mountains. Biggest I think was 550lbs, to me, that's a big critter.
I was lucky enough to see quite a few when we were in Alaska. Both black and grizzly. I was probably within 50 years of a grizzly in a dry river bed and there was an Elk between him and me! (I was inside a vehicle.). That one experience gave me a huge respect for grizzlies. If you haven't seen one in the wild you can not imagine how freakin' big they are. I was just shocked.

I got 80%, I have only seen bears in zoos never in the wild. The hardest part is with the facial features, some are really easy to tell and others are hard.
"When young men seek to be like you, when lazy men resent you, when powerful men look over their shoulder at you, when cowardly men plot behind your back, when corrupt men wish you were gone and evil men want you dead; Only then will you have done your share." -Phil Messina
93% for me.
I have saw a black bear while hunting in Southern Ohio. Kinda freaked me out, to be honest. I wasn't hunting when I saw it, but that is what I was doing in Southern Ohio. I was driving along a creek with my brother, he looked over and yelled bear and I hit the breaks, looked over and there stood a bear, and it took off running.
Next day in the paper it was stated there was a black bear spotted about 1 mile from where we saw it.
To live is to survive. To hunt is to live, to fish is to live and to trap is to live.
Aced that test, 100%. Bears is like kin to me.

1. If it's in your kit and you don't know how to use it....It's useless.
2. If you can't reach your kit when you need it....Its useless.

Trapper Rick you gonna show that certificate to the bears so they'll know it's ok if you shoot them?![]()
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"
1st Bear to 2nd Bear: "Dang it, George. He's got a certificate. Look. He even scored a 100%."
2nd Bear to Trapperrick: "That is pretty impressive."
1st Bear to both: "I'll say. I don't think I'd score 100% on humans. You all look alike to me."
2nd Bear shaking head in agreement.
