Summer Camping....

Does anyone have any family camping planned this summer?

The wife and I are heading out next week for a couple nights to golf at http://www.steugene.ca/ in BC with clients and their wives. Should be a good quick get away. Setting up in the small RV Park on the grounds .

My wife will be camping with the girls for 2 weeks at our resort property at http://www.wildernessvillage.ca/ while my son and I are on our dive trip at the end of the month.

In August, we are planning on attending a family reunion on my wifes side for 4 days in http://ilovenelson.com/about-city/ My brother in law is hosting this year and lives right on the river. Excellent tubing with the kids.

Also in August we are spending 3 weeks in Salmon Arm BC staying at http://www.sharphooks.com/search.asp...o&hotelid=6584 and meeting friends for water skiing and riding our bikes. We store our boat at my sisters there so I can trailer our Harley's down to do a few day trips rides with the group. We have been meeting these same friends for twenty years this location.

Other than that just the odd weekend out camping and ATVing.

Where are you all going?

Yes, I'll be camping in a rustic one room cabin 11' wide by 23' long. Near two waterfalls, in a abandoned gold town, in the heart of the Chugach National Forest....

Well, owning a river outfitting business/rafting company I won't be going anywhere this summer. I will be working alot though. I do have 7 weeks of 6 day/5 night trips booked with a bunch of groups- so I'll be getting in plenty of camping.
Then after the summer is over- my wife is due to give birth (Sept 26) so, I can't imagine I'll be leaving Montana until around Febuary to travel on the sled dog race circuit.

I camped out last night- down by the river. Beautiful night- I didn't hardly sleep though- I couldn't get my mind off the future.

Going next weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Then going June 25th thru the 30th on a long trek through the Adirondack Mountains, then in August from 20th to the 28th on a canoe trek from Massena Ny. down the St. Lawerence into the U.S. going thru Pennsylvania and then down the Ohio, should be a really good and long canoe trek.
Congrats on becoming a new papa, that's great.

I leave the 19th of June for a small walk up Pikes Peak.

July 4th weekend I have to be over in AZ for a climbing course.

July 14th I have a trip planned to hike the gila range in New Mexico for a week.

August 8th I have a trip planned to float down the San Juan river for about 200 miles by canoe.

Sept 7th I have TGF's family reunion camping trip.

Oct 1st I have to be in Kansas for 2 weeks of hiking the old wagon trails(Not my choice what rough we will be taking)25 of us will be pulling wagons(hand carts) like they did 100 yrs ago.

Some time in-between I have to take TDW and TGF camping up in Colo, at least 3 or 4 times.

Just writing that makes me think I need a nap!

once it cools off i hope to sneak off and and spend a night out of doors with out twelve kids

I plan to get out more frequent this summer, They weather is being reasonable so far. And there aid no better way to enjoy it than sunbatheing in the woods

Theres the Land Reform Act, which gives you the right to universal access to the land in Scotland. However you still need to be licenced to travel in some areas, Such as wildlife reservations...... However ive never been on one so i dont know exactly what is required

During the spring/summer/fall I try to get out camping as frequently as possible. Mostly car camping at various state parks in NJ & PA.
Just getting a new tent now (poor old Coleman finally just got worn out) and looking forward to having more room and being able to stand up in a tent

I'll do an 8-10 day solo kayaking trip of the Yukon River headwaters, Atlin Lake's south end, and hike up to Llewellyn Glacier in July. Haven't been down that way in years and can hardly wait.
Another paddle trip, but just 4 days, planned for August, and a motor boat excursion with the boyfriend and all dogs in early September.

Most years we do a series of canoe trips in the BWCA, Quetico, and Bloodvein River areas.

This year, as a personal wilderness survival exercise, I've been concentrating on the waters accessible from my home, which would be the Cloquet River (100 miles), St. Louis River (about 200 miles), the Whiteface River (about 65 miles), and the Floodwood River (20 or 30 miles). There are also Two Rivers, West Two Rivers, and the Swan River, of undetermined lengths and canoe accessibility. All of these rivers are connected and are accessible from my front door as we live on a small lake connected to the Cloquet River.

This has required upgrading my rusty poling technique, as some up stream locomotion through grade I and II white water is required.

I've been discovering some great fishing holes. It is amazing how a river that is two feet deep can suddenly dive to 50 feet deep with little warning.
