    Default How old are you?

    Seriously.
I've been reading some very stupid comments lately. The type I'd expect from 13 year old MvsW fanboys.
I just wanna know how old the people are that I'm chatting to.
Seams like a lot of talk, with a lot of people with zero experience.

    Myself, I'm only 20.

Experience is vast...and age is only to situate ourselves in time, which in itself is relative, but this time is not a mean in itself to gather experience...and this experience is not universal, meaning it only serves in a specific environment because experience is gained by exposure. You can be 80 years old, and have never been exposed to many, many, one more time, many things...the rabbit hole continues...this "thing" can reveal itself in many different ways. Actually, it depends on the observer also. Example, we can both go see a movie, and be exposed to it, experience it, and come out with two completely different experiences. You see, experience is very vast and extremely narrow at the same time. If you narrow your exposure to something very specific, and you explore and observe this one little facet of an object, they will call you an expert. In this case our concept of time takes on importance, because it takes time to efficiently explore anything. Time, as we saw earlier is not synonymous with age. The older you get, the more chances you were exposed to a multitude of things, still not making this experience objective or complete. I have met 10 year old experts, and inexperienced 90 year olds...

oops, here i go again...saying stupid things.
    How old am I ?
    Who gives a **** mate.
So....are you saying your only 10?

you are very right volwest, age is not an indicater of experience,it is the sum of what we have been through and done that gives us experience, for me experience came over the past three years of struggling to feed my family when my husband suffered a back injury, that lead to 3 discs being almost completely gone, and 2 more that were showing severe signs of degredation,he is diabetic, and suffers from alot of the complications that goes along with diabetes,we not only lost his income, but mine as well since his doctor appointments icluded procedures that meant he could not drive, seven surgeries in as many months, cost me my job as well,I went on unemployment and drawed that out paying for Cobra rate insurance for him only and that took up a full 1/3 of my monthly unemployment,I could not find another job that would allow me to take time for my husbands medical needs except in the fast food industry,I had to turn to states help for insurance for him, and they pulled me down even further,I had to have 0 income to get him insurance and then they would then also send me a little check $346 to pay all our bills, and give me food stamps, then required me to go back to work and deducted so many dollars from our foodstamps for each dollar I made, try paying the bills and feeding a family of 4,on what they allow you,it just doesnt work,so I took some of the foodstamps and bought garden seeds, and turned my little yard into a fruitful garden, then had to learn again how to preserve what I had grown ( learned as a child but had gotten away from it after I "grew up"),but we are not vegetariens ,so once a week,I would go out to the chicken pen and kill and clean enough chickens ,and to the rabbit pen and kill and clean enough rabbits to get us through the week. only through the week though because I never knew when they would show up to turn off our electric, happened once, and also the water, thank goodness there was a nice creek across the beanfield behind the house, hitched up the little wagon to a worn out riding mower and went off to the other side of the field, loaded up tubs of water and buckets with all the water I could carry and brought it back home and boiled the heck out if it,used it to cook ( on the grill, even learned how to make buscuits and gravy on the grill ) and clean and do laundry,I had blisters from that, big time, because the washer wouldnt work without water actually running into it. I picked berries and whatever else I could find to help feed the family. Lived like that for 3 1/2 years while we waited on the government to agree that my husband was indeed totally and permanantly disabled.

So yea I think I know what experience is all about,LOL.This is what has driven me to learn all I can about survival.

    soe,

Dude,I am not concerned about proper literary writing techniques on this forum,I rarely ever make long posts in which following the rules of writing would be so strictly enforced.

Do not worry about my,nor anyone elses writing styles on this forum, thats not why we are here.

Concentrate instead on learning what you need to know to save your sorry a**,should the need arise, from some of your last posts,it would seem as though you are going to need it to save yourself, because I doubt seriously if you would last too long in a group survival situation.

Oh,by the way, work on your spelling.

    Default age experience, brains

I think that the good manners and common sense of the 14 year old in the other post speaks volumes to how much age matters. A wllingness to learn, to move forward with some caution..at age 14...there you go.

And Nell, don't hold back tell him what you really think
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"
