best winter boots and why what are yours?

i have a few pairs and found that irish setters and wolverines
in 1,200gr thinsulate work very well fo me.right now i have on a pr of
adtec 400gr thinsulate leatherboot and for this weather right now they work quite well.
thing i found is never go cheap on your feet .

My wife and I both have Columbia Bugaboots. We have Mickey Mouse boots in the vehicles.

rick what brand are the mikey mouse boots ? i ask this cause the chinese have made a lot of substandard knock offs.
bata is the company that made the issue one,s just research it.at least i heard the BATA brand are the best the name is stamped on the bottom of the boot.

My winter boots are just felt-lined Beanboot knockoffs. They mostly ride around in the truck in winter. I also have a pair of below-the-knee rubber boots that'll take a heavy pair of hunting socks for when the snow gets deep. My everyday boots are Gortex Timberlands and they work fine in winter. My outdoor pair is 3 years old and still good and waterproof (religiously mink oiled on the leather parts.) My newer ones are a bit more presentable for work.

Many pairs of boots......back of the truck used to look like a Lacrosse ad......boot for every season.

Like Sorel Icemans, (cold)and the Mickey boots(really cold)...used from SG,
Lacrosse pack w/removable liners, wool and Gortex (medium cold), Danners leather 400liner (Medium to warm)
Bean lined rubber bottom moc's....cool weather kicking around boots.

And in Lacrosse snake boots 14", lined....Lacrosse Chest waders...Lacrosse High top swampers.

Through the company I work for I can purchase Shoes for Crews and pay for it out of my paycheck. I don't like them. Every pair I've had was a waste of money.

For anything winter hiking or winter hunting I stick with the Columbia brand. If I'm on a winter construction project, Red Wings.

Wolverine Walnuts when there's no snow. Mickey Mouse boots with gaiters when there is.

Mickey Mouse boots, hands down. Well, feet down. The only boot that keeps my toes from freezing even standing around outside at -50.

Irish Setters and L.L. Bean Boots. Wool Socks, sometimes two pair of wool socks. (Not in Florida, one pair will do it here, North Alabama is colder and requires 2 pairs)

I wear socks with my slippers all the time....LOL......of course my feet hurt a lot, so wear slippers a lot.....inside and out..

I wear socks with my slippers too if I'm too lazy to take them off.
I wear slippers outside too, except not so much in rain and snow. Not nearly so waterproof as my shoes and I HATE wet feet.
Wet feet in socks is even worse. Wet feet in socks drenched in salt water is unbearable.

Used to go with Sorel glacier boots when I lived up north... at the time they were comfort rated to something like-70. Sorel's gone kind of chi chi lately, i *hope* they are still good....I also had a pair of what I think was their Cheyanne model, though I could be wrong, because teenagers are fashion conscious and I didn't want to go to school in glacier boots but was too big of a nerd to realize that those weren't any better as far as coolness was concerned. But either way, with both pairs, they were good and warm, had decent soles, and they kept the wind out. Tellingly, at one point or another I've frozen my cheeks, ears, nose, wrists, neck, and on one memorable occasion a small patch of my chest, but I never froze my feet.

These days I wear a pair of thinsulate lined gumboots. Pair them with mohair socks and I can snowshoe for hours without getting cold feet.

I use several brands of felt-lined "Pacs" -- the ones with the removable, felts liners (inner boots). I also keep spare liners (inner boots) on hand. You asked "Why?" Because they're comfortable, they're warm in sub-zero cold, and the liners (inner boots) can be removed to dry out the inside of the Pac boot and dry the liner as well. Dry boot are warm boots!

I use the white bunny boots, muck boot's Arctic pro, and felt lined pacs. Generally any boot, any price only lasts me a season.

As we have been having a warm winter. My black Bata bunny boots " Mickey Mouse " boots have gotten all the use so far this winter. But when it gets cold. Colder than 20 below F the White Bata bunny boots are the boots I rely on. We have been able to wear them on The Slope but now Exxon has gone to mandatory approved safety toe boots. Last winter I wore LaCrosse felt lined pacs with non metallic safety toe at Nuiqsut running an air track rock drill on night shift. I got them big enough so I could put a felt insole under the liners and an arched insole inside . They worked good down to 40 below even with wind hills to 70 below. At least they did as long as the liners were in good shape. After a couple months the liners were compressed enough that they lost some R value and my general health diminished my feet would get chilly standing next the drill in the floor of the pit. Then I went back to my Bata bunny boots and all was hood.
