6th annual wsf jamboree where are all the people?

i guess the reasons many would not are manifold. health, economy, job , life happens and so on.
in all honesty i really wish i could,ve attended. i live to camp.

I have tried in the past to get one going in this area but there's always been a lack of interest.

I've wanted to go to some of the others but life happens so I don't commit when it would be more than a couple of hours away.

Sorry BTW, as much as I love my WSF buddies, if I am going to spend $1600 I would go see my parents. My dad just had sugary to remove a tumor from his bladder. Yes, it was cancer. Or I would go see my ailing mother in law who hopefully will live a bit longer so I can see her again, because she "raised" me since I was 17. I haven't seen them since my husband's funeral 3 years ago. Or I would put that money in my house savings account as I am saving for a down payment. People come if they can. Trying to guilt people into coming wont make finances or location change and is a pretty malodorous tactic.

KyRat and I met up a few days ago and were discussing this. The general thought was to keep the annual WSF Jamboree which is a site wide invite and then have a "Regional Rendezvous" in addition. I'll start a thread to see if there is an interest for my area.

For them, not for me. I like camping. I will go camping regardless. If people with similar interests wanna join, they are welcome too. As for other regions, well, who knows. Many wanna complain they never have anything in their area. The opportunity is at their feet. As the saying goes, "Put up, or shut up". Crash is a mod, not site community organizer. He sets up the Jamboree out of his heart (and does a fantastic job too!) and it is not his job to set up stuff in other areas or in every state. It is not written any where that only certain people can set stuff up. If members want it soo bad, they can do it themselves.

You'd be surprised at how many messages I received stating......"you know this is during hunting season right?" When I suggest that they take the initiative and set it up, make the phone calls, pay for the reservations, etc..........crickets.

Lol I bet.

I don't see anyone complaining that they couldn't make it, only giving the reasons why. That's different then complaining. Here after I get my house and then get to go down and visit my family, I fully plan to keep the rondy in mind when considering the timing.
