Crash respects the people's privacy so that our faces are not plastered all over the net.

Yep....there are people in most pictures. You've just gotta look real hard and hold your lips just right.

I may get in trouble for this post but that is not going to stop my comment. The Jamboree is posted many months in advance but people seem not to want to participate. I realize folks are spread out but there are many that live close enough to come but do not. It makes me think that many like to talk the game but when it comes time to play and actually get a chance to be camping out it is not something folks are wanting to do.

Now I realize that finding a place convenient for all of us is impossible. It is not like there could not be more than one location so that folks would not have to travel so far but I really do not see folks participating anymore if that were the case. It all comes down to whether folks want to make the commitment.

I think it is a great opportunity for us to get together to network with each other and just to put faces to the folks posting. The folks that have come to these have been great and very down to earth just like their posts.

So please think about taking the time to come and if it is too far consider heading up a Jamboree in you area if there are enough folks interested. There is nothing wrong with there being more than one.

Or whether your work changes your shift on you, takes away your scheduled PTO time, then puts you on mandatory overtime. Life happens.

Yes you are right life does happen. I just mean so many comment after the fact they wish they had known about the Jamboree. Life certainly took us out of the 5th Jamboree. I was just making a suggestion of trying to get folks to think ahead.

Even planning ahead doesn't cover the possible glitches that occur.........
We attended last year, had the trailer packed for this year (still is)....but became apparent that the trip wasn't gonna happen.
After all it was and is supposed to be a fun and enjoyable experience as was the one last year.

    Will see about next year.

I wish it wasn't so far. Curious what are the average distances traveled form users? Anyone gone 1,000 or more miles to attend?

Our trip last year was in the 750 mile range, would have been a about the same this year.........and we split it up both to and from.....stayed at a hotel part way.

We travel to Louisiana a couple of times a year that about 1000....and have been splitting that trip up.

This one was about 550 one way for me. The first one was the furthest for me - don't remember the distance, but think it was close to 900 one way.

    Winnie holds the record though.

    What was that record?

I just googled it, almost couldn't be any further from me without leaving the country. Nearly 2,700 miles :0

I'm guessing about 4,000 miles. Remember, she lives in England.

Wow, 4,000. Even traveling coast to coast can't top flying in from another country!

Lol. I think i'd either just fly in and rent a vehicle, or i'd have to make it a couple week trip across the country to justify putting the miles (and gas) on my car.

I'd love to see members in other areas start up some outings. They really are a blast. I'm on another site and the Florida contingent is quite large. We meet up quite a few times during the year.
