Lawsuit? They should all be prosecuted, convicted, and sentenced to 20 years in a federal penitentiary.

I assume you all are talking about the attempted murderer driving drunk.

Okay, so let's say she had hit a parked car. Would they have been justified in gang raping her?

Yea , just the same as all americans carrying guns are potential mass murderers , would it justify this strip search. Bet they wouldn't have searched a murderer like that.

All I am saying is it's a double sided sword. They didn't rape anyone and this was not a random back alley event. All we see is a video. Would you have been as appalled if it was a guy? For all we know at this point, she refused to comply with changing into jail clothing or acted suspicious as if she was hiding drugs or a weapon and then resisted. Again we only have limited facts and a video.

Nighthawk...attempting to bring guns into this with me could not be further off the point

I don't get the outrage here. They did it, they got caught, not only is she suing them but there is bound to be an investigation into it. Justice prevails. End of story.

The four of them belong in a federal prison for decades, and the victim should recover every last dime that each one of them owns through her lawsuit.

They are nothing more than thugs in uniform, abusing their authority, and are no different than the Hollywood Stuntz mob that attacked that man and terrorized his family.

There SHOULD be outrage because when there is none, these types of inappropriate behaviors continue. Justice will prevail because she was lucky enough to be in a jail where there is video. All are not so lucky. If this was your wife or mother or sister or heaven forbid, your daughter, who had been stupid enough to have one too many, would you think it was ok to traumatize her?

You missed my point. What benefit is YOUR outrage? How will YOU change it. It's on the news, she suing them. I whole heartily agree she should, the cops should be arrested and prosecuted. What they did is wrong. But...I don't understand the passion displayed in a forum that doesn't benefit the victim and doesn't prosecute the perpetrators. I just don't see any benefit in getting mad at something I have no control or influence over. Do whatever you want.

One case at a time. On this past Friday, I was in court arguing a Motion to Suppress Evidence discovered as a result of an illegal strip search that violated even the department's own policies. The court took the matter under advisement. I'll let you know what the court's decision is as soon as I receive it.

ok, the outrage is an expression of disbelief....I would never have thought three police MEN and one woman would take a female and subject her to this...

now, I did see how she seemed to kick backwards, for what drunken reason we don't know, there is no audio for this

I say as a culture we need to express our outrage, not just sit back, It didn't happen to me, or my sister or mom, and the LAW is looking into it, so, no need for me to get involved.

This forum encourages discourse. Do we only discuss things we can do something about, right this minute, from our own private chair?

And, yes, I would have been appalled if it was a guy being mass stripped by three women and a man.

Woodsman, do you really think like that? Your thought process is in my opinion the reason people have problems with cops.

A person who swears to uphold the law isn't entitled to break it because he feels his actions were somehow more heroic then they were.

She was arrested. She is in custody and surrounded by 4 TRAINED officers. What is the statute of limitations on doing this sort of thing to a person for there crimes you perceive them guilty. What are the limitations of the indignation and abuse you feel they are duly subject too.

Maybe this murderer should have just got a bullet to the head by the cop and save the prosecutor, judge and jury all the time and trouble.

Lets not forget professional courtesy. You know the cases where actual DUI cops cover for each other and frame it on innocent people?

You seem to have this view that heroes have a right to break the laws they are sworn to uphold.

Weak people with issues do things like what are shown in the video. Not heroes.

Of course not. But what good has this thread done except to make someone feel better by getting their rant out? Would it not have been better to say, "Hey, look what happened to this woman." (post link). "I think this is a shameful abuse of power and you might want to contact Sheriff Thomas Templeton of the Lasalle County Sheriff's Department and let him know how you feel about what the jail deputies have done ask him what his approach will be with Jail Superintendent Jason Edgecomb. And isn't it shameful that they have pulled the email addresses from their web site so no one can contact them?

I sent my comments to Jerry Hicks the County Board Chairman and asked him why there were no email links on the Sheriff's web page and what I thought the county board should do.

    Here's his email address:

    [email protected]

Seriously, wouldn't that be a lot more productive? (which I did by the way).

That's all I was getting at. We can sit in our chair and make a difference if we actually do something. What would Mr. Hicks do tomorrow if he turned on his computer and it said:
