    Default Cool Chair

Check out this chair. It was constructed entirely from Iraqi weapons captured during Desert Storm. The Colonel in the pic is a close friend of the family.

WUT? Those AK's are probably the most dependable rifles you can buy. Submerge it in seawater, drag it through mud, bury it in sand, and it's probably STILL gonna' fire. I have two, and I know I can depend on them. I just got my first AR-15, and I love it. I've put 200 rounds through it. It's lightweight, accurate, and a great gun all around. Nonetheless, I still trust my AK's more, if for no reason other than I've learned that I can depend on them. Time will tell if I grow to feel that way about the AR-15.

Not saying they never fire, they just are so inaccurate. "Just remember, spraying hit's something 100% of the time."

Well, this isn't a "I can drive a tack with a bullet" claim, but my AK's consistently hit what I wanted them to.

I am gonna agree with Ken here. I have one AK and 3 AR-15s. I shoot hang steel drop of angle iron stands hung by #12 solid wire out to 110 yards. I would say the hits are about the same on 10" square at that range. Well almost. You can sure hear a hit and see it swing a lot better with the 7.62.

That is one drawback of the ar15. The .223 will penetrate, but it is a rather limited round. The .308 in the ar platform has remedied that issue. Now if the military would catch on to that.

We went from the 30.06 to the .308 to the .223.

Most people that hunt down here use a .30-30 and that is most often compared more closely to the 7.62X39.

At first I thought, Dang, how many guns were harmed in the making of this chair....then it hit me. They are AK's. Stick them back together with some bubblegum and they will probably still work.

.308 is the same as 7.62X54 so you can look at the case and see that it is quite a bit longer than a 7.62X39.

If you can't bring them home as souvenirs do something with them! That's a cool chair none-the-less.

On the gun discussion...... I'd much rather be hit with a .223 round than a .762X39, but, I love the .308 and for nearly all of my hunting I can smoke anything with my Tikka T3 .270 with a grin.
