Hmmm...I guess I can't find the Digital Angel products here because they haven't been FDA approved yet, afaik, since the expermient was in Central America.
Oh, and the digitalangel.net RFID tracking site is down. I guess that means their Central American experiment run didn't go so well.
I have also investigated the VeriChip site in 2005 with no luck. Just some garbage about club kids and executives. I took another look today. Everything on there appears localized to scanners embeded in the building itself, which doesn't appear to effective if you make it out of the building and into a vehicle. Sure, if security stops someone before they make it out, ok, it worked. Or, once they find you they can scan your chip, but, it doesn't seem to work that well for tracking purposes.
I tried to call Verichip at the 1-800 # on their site and got an answering machine. It's early still, so I'll try again later today and get confirmation from them one way or the other.
