    Great pictures! On a really hot day I wonder if those water skimmers go scooting across the water going, "Hot! hot! hot! hot!" like we do across the beach? Is that also a spring fed river?

    Don't look at the sign on the roof, YCC. They didn't really put screw through the shingles.

    I didn't know much about the river but found this

    The Hillsborough River begins in southwest Pasco County in the Green Swamp. From the Green Swamp, the river begins as an overflow from the Withlacoochee River, north of US Highway 98. Its headwaters begin as a slow moving sheet flow that percolates through a heavily vegetated riverine forest that has no discernable channel. Approximately a quarter of a mile south of its beginning point, a channel emerges and becomes more defined as a channelized riverine system (SWFWMD). The Hillsborough picks up a little steam with the influence of Crystal Springs which discharges millions of gallons of water per day.

    Wonderful pictures Crash, are you seeing a lot of people at the parks? I mention to people all the time here to go see the real Florida when they go down, but very few do or so it seems.

    Beautiful picters of a lovely place. I went down to the creek today to just listen to the water run over the rocks. You put my creek to shame.

    I was there on Thursday, but did encounter a few people on the trails. There is also a half acre swimming pool that I imagine is pretty crowded in the summer. Most places I hike during the week I don't see many people.

    My house is less than three blocks from the Hillsborough river in Tampa. I fish it often. There is also a Hillsborough river in south fla that I used to fish, made famous in the barefoot mailman book due to it's being brackish water and having both gaters and sharks ... as the story went the mailman walked florida doing his deliveries and used a canoe to traverse the river till one day some indians stole his canoe and he had to swim between the gators and sharks.
