And the most likely scenario for SHTF. Hopefully, you had plenty of bread, milk and eggs.

I have chickens,so eggs are not a problem.
Biggest issue is getting gas if the shtf.Just a few towns over had power so that's where I filled up a container for gas for the geni.
I had 5 gallons. But they said we might not have power till Thurs. so I wanted to get more.

I guess y'all are having a earlier winter?

The leaves on the trees haven't even all fell down yet, pulled the tomatoes out of the garden yesterday, had just a slight touch of frost.

They are calling for maybe some snow on Friday this week, right now just raining.......

Hooweee. At this rate Zombie Attack and Apocalypse are looking more and more viable. Maybe you should think about moving?

There's plenty of zombies here in this state to fight.

MA, isn't that the state where people get lost in corn mazes and orchards?

Better check your compass, in case the magnetic fields shifted..........

With all this weirdo weather and the tectonic plates shifting around and such, I surprised y'all can even stand up.....LOL

This makes 6 deaths so far that I know of.
I would guess this woman refused to go to a shelter. There were and still are plenty around the state.

    4 deaths from cabonmonoxide
    1 fire

An 86-year-old woman was found dead in her unheated home today, according to Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Dorothy M. Hall of 70 Old East Brookfield Road was found unresponsive by her son, Willis W. Hall, 59, who had shared the home with his mother.

Mrs. Hall was wrapped in a blanket sitting in a living room chair this morning when her son could not wake her. He called 911. North Brookfield police and ambulance arrived about 9:45 a.m. and Mrs. Hall was determined to be dead.

Mr. Hall was taken to Harrington Hospital for a medical condition and possible hypothermia. He had told police that the Halls' house lost power about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and it was still out. He said his mother had complained that she was cold on Wednesday night.

“These are tragic circumstances,” Mr. Early said. “If you are without power, especially if you are elderly or an adult with young children, please take precautions. Contact the local police department and find a shelter where you can stay warm. If possible check on your elderly neighbors, relatives and friends.”

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted the case. The State Police assigned to the District Attorney's Office and North Brookfield Police are continuing to investigate.

There is no way that poor gal could regulate her temperature the way we can. That's pretty sad.
