Default Uses for a metal soda can

I'll start. Assume you can cut it and punch holes in it.

    - Make an alky stove.
    - Boil water in it (cut top off first.)
    - Cut in half the long way and use as a scooper for flour, sugar, etc.
    - Cut in half the short way and it will hold a candle and won't let the wax go all over.
    - Use to melt wax to make more candles.
    - Polish concave bottom and use to start fires. (Must be REALLY polished well.)
    - Use concave bottom as signal mirror.
    - Cut off leaving 1 inch of bottom, flip over, and use concave bottom to cook mini-muffins over a fire.

use the body of one (without a bottom) and slide it into the bottom of another one (without the top but has the sides) so it is a really tall pop can without a lid. dig a hole in the ground and put some cheese in the bottom (if needed) or put it outside the mouse hole. the smooth sides prevent the escape of the mouse. i also ballance a popsicle stick with some cheese on the end. when the mouse leans out to retrieve the cheese, he falls in.

cut into small points to tip arrows, spears, gigs
    use sharp edge to shred/cut
place pebbles inside, attach to trip wire for early warning of intruders

Take a piece of cordage, tie a knot in one end, punch a small hole in the bottom of the can that the knot won't go through....wait for it you guys are gonna love this, it really works. Put the untied end through the can and pull the knot down inside. Shake the knot about half way up the can, hold sideways and rip it hard down to the bottom so the knot goes "bonk" against the metal, and you have a very effective bull moose call! A milk or soup can work better, mind you.

Along those same lines, use two cans with the same cordage --- instant telephone.

I sure thought that's where Trax was going. I was sort of disappointed. He actually named a use.

Go figure. Trying to actually think of alternate uses of a soda can? Guests can not see images in the messages. Please register in the forum.

Well, I was defending comic book characters earlier, so.... Ya know the plus on the moose call thing is that you can't phone a moose on the other one, well you can but he won't answer.

By gargling with soda you can loosen the phlegm causing the irritation that makes a sore throat.

    let's see..
you can use the tab as a fishing lure and/or the fish hook itself.
you can cut the sides of the can out as one big sheet and use it as a wind screen for your alcohol stove you made with someone else's suggestion.
you can use two halves as a storage container for tinder or embers.
you can plug the hole with a stick and use the empty can (upended) as a float for fishing.
you can roll the flat aluminum into "spikes" for dart tips. fold them to double thickness first, then sharpen on a stone.
you can roll the flat aluminum into a cylinder and use it as a pencil on stone.
you can make eskimo sunglasses out of two layers of flattened aluminum.
you can make buttons out of the thicker layers on top and bottom of the can.
you can use the bottom third to hold water for a floating compass (and still polish the concave part of the bottom for a firestarter at the same time).
you can use aluminum strips as makeshift wire.
you can use a bit to replace a burned out fuse for a short time.
you can roll up the flat portion into a makeshift drill bit for wood.
you can fold the flat portion into a sheath for a knife (antler, bone, stone, metal, etc.).

that's about all i can think of off the top of my head.

All that time underwater took its toll didn't it?

Flatten the can and fold it over, insert cotton cloth and fold edges, toss in fire to make char clothe.
