I'm picking up a couple of hip "packs" from this gal. VERY neat stuff! The way they hang, I can wear them with our without my large hiking pack and they make GREAT options for short day hikes if you don't need to bring a LOT. Check it out!! I haven't seen anything quite like them...if any of you know of something comparable or as versatile, shoot it my way.

Are you talking about the Unisex Pocket Belt (I got a cold shiver just typing Unisex.. ooooh. there is was again.) I'm more of a drop leg kind of guy, man, hunk. I don't do Unisex anything (brrrrr.)

I use a big fanny pack. Yea I know. But it works so that I can make camp and just do day hikes from there. I can carry two water bottles with it so don't have to worry about filtering so often. The only problem with it is that when I am wearing my backpack and wearing this in front, it is a pita to climb up anything very steep as my knees hit it.
