Does anyone besides me salute an eagle when you see one?

Heck, the radio broadcast of todays NY opener.....The National Amthem, I actually faced a flag where I was at and held my hat to my heart, people looked at me as if I was having an episode.....

We had a live eagle cam in northern Wisconsin, a couple of yers ago.

Eagle had two chicks, and as the days went by, you could tell that one 'failed to thrive" till one day it was just gone.

Kinda an uproar about that, but then again mother nature knows best?

They are on the beaches in AK for sure, they eat the washed up fish right there, some take them away, but most eat them right there. They are as pleantyfull like Gulls up in AK, you have to literally shove them outta the way when you walk the beaches.... I was so tempted to bend down and grab one of the fallen feathers, but at the time was not sure of the laws.... HUGE birds when you are up close. That cam site in the Q&A area sais the nests are 5-6 feet accross and 5 feet deep.

I wonder if the parents sit in the same direction all the time or do they move around ?

I might set up a monitor at the show tomorrow while we are demo the rustic furniture making. Tomorrow the egg is due to hatch, how cool will that be ???

They truely big birds, you don't realize it till you are up close.

Had one fly by my round bale duck blind, on the shore of the river, was at eye level about 8 ft away as it was gliding down the river.
I was in full camo, w/face mask and I don't think it eveb saw me.

It was moving the eggs around a little while ago,, so yes,, she moves,,,, The egg could hatch anytime now they say,,, That would be cool to set up a monitor BTW,, (I think I would have grabbed a feather,, real sneaky like,, Its stupid that a person cannot possess a feather of the National bird,,, as long as its found on the ground,, imo)

How do you proove you found it on the ground as opposed to plucking it from a bird ?

*No really Mr. Ranger sir....(as a bird is limping away and flying in circles due to feather plucked) I found it on the beach......

Why would anyone have to pluck a bird when they are laying all over the beach ?

You wouldn't have to if it wasn't illegal to have ,,,,,, its just a feather,,, silly law,, Great law for it to be illegal to molest the bird,,, just like hunting,, its legal to harvest an animal but some poach,,, maybe get a permit to pick up feathers,,,,,

Hunter, Mo-Nat can be a real BISCHE sometimes, but it is a perfect balance act.... some folk go in and mess it up and wonder why things go FUBAR.

Scott, this eagle cam was the HIT HIT HIT of the festival we were set up at tonight. I put up a 50" monitor with sound..... people literally bought our chairs and sat them in front of the screen and watched the Eagles for hours.....I will have it there tomorrow and Sunday too. I allowed people to take screen prints and send em to themselves with the addy so they can watch at home.

Seriously, thank you for this.... I sat here this morn for 2 1/2 hours just fixated on him and her and the three eggs. It was very calming and relaxing.
