I just got this today. It came in sharp and ready to go. I'll be testing it over the weekend.

It bothers me how someone with new shoes can come up to me asking for money.

It's not the service provider, but the fact that I used my phone to write the first post... Got the wrong url copied. Touch screen is a bit touchy it seems. Should work right now.

It looks like a Mora, except the handle looks like it is shaped to force your hand into the blade if you try to use it....Be careful this weekend!

Joking! Nice knife! I have a Marttiini that I keep in my tackle box.

    ouch!
Of course it looks like a Mora! Mora is a cheap and crappy ripoff of traditional Finnish tool known as puukko... of which we see a beautiful example in the pictures of the first post!

    Lol...

EDIT: Now where is Rick!? I need him to absurdly and completely in vain try to defend his beloved Mora, so that I may say more bad things about the blasted piece of scrap metal resembling more of cheap plastic than steel...

You need to ask the swedes to ask the chinase who make them Moras to add the text "puukko" on one patch... Those would be as authentic as Moras get.. LOL

Actually you Finnish Fireball, I actually like Marttiini knives. I like the Jarvenpaa's too.

That's a very nice knife. I look forward to your report.

Let me see if I have this right.

Marttiini buys blades from Mora and puts their own handles on them and ups the price $40.

And the Finns buy them as home grown knives?

What's the size if it?It's built much like it's larger cousin the leuku.

Is it pretty much a smaller leuku?
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

Nice looking knife, will also be looking for a report.

Seems like Finland has a propensity for birch handles?

If I remember correctly you have a choice of two woods in Finland, Birch or Spruce. It is sort of like Canada north of the maple zone and across the big water.

NCO has not seen our posts or he would have reamed us out already. Don't worry, he'll come back and jump on all of us for diss'ing his modified Moras.

Somehow I just do not see $30 worth of leather in that sheath! They need to make a nice durable plastic one that the knife snaps into.

Good thing that the winter cold numbs the sences, otherwise I might have noticed all those ignorant remarks somehow linking moras and puukkos... lol

Winter: it is bit more than to palm spans long. It does resemble a leuku a lot.

Crash: Nope, that model comes only with curled birch.

hunter63: yes we do. It is due the looks of the wood and availability of it.

Kyra: Well, the most common tree around here is pine... but for knife making the commonly used ones are birch, juniper and sometimes rowen.
