    Thumbs up Free Food Sample

I am posting this in case you all have not seen this or have missed it. Wise foods is giving away free samples for you to try their product. I am guessing they are hoping to get you interested in purchasing more. I have heard that these meals are very tasty, and that these foods can be stored for quite awhile.

    FAQ: http://www.wisefoodstorage.com/quest...nd_answers.php

    Sample Sign up: http://www.wisefoodstorage.com/our_meals.php

NOTE: They will call you to verify your address and to see where you learned about Wise foods. If you they cannot get in touch with you with the number listed they will send an email.

Hopefully I have not overstepped here.

Checked out the site. Looked good until you try to order thr free sample. It kicks you off site when you attempt to submit the info. Have you tried to order? Maybe a system error causing it OR?

Mine went right through without a hitch. Their server might have had a problem or been busy.

I did get a call from Wise Foods tonight. He's sending me some Beef Stroganoff, which I love. We'll see how good it is and I'll let you know.

Tried again to send for sample. went through okay this time. They called me within the hour today, talked to the guy for almost 1/2 hour. He's sending me several different ones in both single serving as well as some 4 serving ones. Might be able to get a local distributorship with them. He said that if I buy a bigger amount in an order, I can get them 30%-40% cheaper than Mountian house. IF I can get them at a really good price
I'll share the savings with everyone here.

Wow that's awesome. My wife talked to them today about their products and apparently their 3 month supply serves 4 people and he said since it was just the two of us it could/would last 6 months.

Should have my sample in soon and I will let you all know how it is.

And good look with that oldsoldier.

I can't find a price anywhere on their web site but doing a little math it looks like each bucket holds 120 servings and would be priced somewhere in the $320.00 retail(?) range.

Their site says $2.66 per serving on average.
    http://www.wisefoodstorage.com/outdo...ent=affordable

That's $10.64 per foil pouch. There are 120 servings in a can. (Total servings / by buckets at bottom of page)
    http://www.wisefoodstorage.com/our_m...upply_packages

    2.66 X 120 = $319.20

    120 servings / 4 servings per pouch = 30 pouches per can. 10.64 per pouch X 30 pouches = $319.20 (A little sanity check on the math.)

Probably why they don't have a price listed.

The emergency meals from Costco are 275 meals for $90.00. I know the Costco foods are a steed of a different hue but about 75% less than these.

A-Pack Ready Meals (Civilian MREs) are 12 complete meals for $70.00

The other thing I looked at were calories per meal. As near as I can tell, it looks like about 750 calories for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These are vegetarian meals so there is no fat from meat. (There is meat in the A-Pack meals. Costco is vegetarian, too). In an emergency situation, you would probably need more calories depending on the problem, climate, etc.

I'm also troubled that their site says 25 year shelf life over and over then says they have a freshness guarantee of 7 years. Here's a comparison on their site.

I'm not saying anything good or bad about them just trying to do a little consumer shopping. Don't know if that helps anyone or not.

Their Outdoor meals only last 7 years and their Emergency Meals last 25 years. That's the way I am reading it from the links you provided, but I could be wrong.

Rick, I think you listed the price per serving for the Outdoor Meals. I found the price for the Emergency Meals and they are listed as follows:

    Affordable
Official USDA statistics reveal that the average cost to feed a family of 2 adults and 4 children is $14,955.60 per year. Wise’s ready-made meals run about $1.60 a serving, making them truly affordable. Our prices are low because we want to work with you to help protect your most important asset, your family...
    http://www.wisefoodstorage.com/why_w...ent=affordable

So using your equation because I couldn't do it otherwise we have the following:

    1.6 X 120 = $192

    120 servings / 4 servings per pouch = 30 pouches per can. 6.40 per pouch X 30 pouches = $192

Hopefully you do not mind me using your method.

What the!? Why you....of course not. I don't want to paint it any different than what it is.

I received the "beef" stroganoff in the mail today. We have the grand kids this week so it will probably be the week-end before my wife tries it....I mean before we try it.

Ordered, received and eaten. Okay, I couldn't wait. We tried it tonight. My wife gave it one of those faces that says, "Never mind. You don't have to ask." I didn't find it all that bad. It was a bit mundane actually. Not unlike most other freeze dried food. I wouldn't mind taking it hiking and I sure wouldn't mind eating it in an emergency. Just another meal in my book.

RK - Yours actually arrived. I ran by and swiped it out of the mailbox before you got home. But don't tell anyone.

Wiss responded to my email and is sending me a sample.

    They ask 2 questions.

1, Where did I hear about them.

    2. How did I have internet without a telephone.

I explained that I have a dedicated line only for the computer, but ditched the telephone/cell phone as I was tired of getting calls about the debts my ex-wife obtained after we were divorced or how they the debt collectors could contact/find her.

I am waiting to see what happens

Would you be mad if I said I got a package of Cheesy Lasagna today? I didn't get the price list with either one. What are the prices?
