I wish I could have called you Dogman, but we couldn't get cell phone service to work but twice and the WiFi at Coulter's Bay Campground had such a low connection rate that I couldn't even email anyone.

We had a great time. We saw plenty of elk, bison, coyote, mule deer and snowshoe hare, but we never saw a single bear or moose.

We just got back to Louisiana at 5PM this afternoon, over 4200 miles in 13 days. My family insists that next time I plan a road trip that I buy them plane tickets (what a bunch of wimps!!!), I still prefer to drive and look at the countryside.

Glad you had a safe trip. Thanks for sharing the pictures. That is some beautiful country and I'd love to visit there someday. As enjoyable as it may be, there's no place like home. Welcome back SR.
If you take a plane next time, you'll miss all the scenery. Hopefully you can convince them it's worth the drive!!
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller

glad you made it home! No moose or bears...no way! Actually, its common for people to not see moose in the area, as their numbers crashed after the huge 1988 fires, then w/ the wolf re-into in '95 they never rebounded. There are a few places that people regularly see them (mainly in Grand Teton) but I talk to more folks who don't see them, then do. I have only seen 6 moose this year (compared to thousands of ELk)
Bears however...are seen all over the place. I am surprised you didn't see any of those. I've already seen about 20 bears this season and they've only been up for a couple of months! Glad you had a great trip though~

Remember when I called them wimps? They really had a good time, but the long drives were rough. At least they were in a motor coach and were able to move around which made the trip far easier than it would have been in a car.
