    Default And so it begins..........

SHE has decided to keep them in a large cat carrier 'till they get a bit bigger. With newspaper on the floor. And a dog bowl with water. And a dish with food. And a floodlamp about 18" from the side of the carrier to keep 'em warm.

They were in the enclosed deck yesterday, but when the temp got around 65* last night, SHE thought they might get too cold, so SHE brought 'em inside and put 'em in one of the bathrooms, and cranked up the heat.

I had to go to Home Depot this morning, and when I came back, they were all swimming in the bathtub while SHE cleaned their little house.

Then they were back out on the deck, with the "heat lamp" turned on again. And then SHE cleaned the bathtub.

By 2:00 this afternoon, SHE had cleaned up their little house THREE TIMES TODAY, and changed their water, and gave them fresh newspaper, and filled up their food. THREE TIMES!

The novelty of all of this is gonna' wear off soon. SHE is bound to get sick of it, and I am gearing up for some Duck Confit!

Why mister, you might be fooling some of this crowd but you aren't fooling me.
SHE, my foot...it's you too. They'll be eating pizza crust out of your hand before you know what hit you.

So which one are you going to turn into your guard duck? Ducks can be vicious, I still have nightmares from that one time...

I agree with Crash. That is what I named three of my rabbits. The scouts loved it when I took Lunch with me to summer camp to work on the wilderness survival merit badge.

Okay, I WAS a bit grouchy when I posted that. That's what happens when I don't get much sleep because THREE DUCKS WERE IN THE BATHTUB CHIRPING LOUD ALL NIGHT.

I just got the call. Time for another trip to Home Depot tonight.

It seems I'm expected to build a little fenced-in "duck yard" complete with a little coop with electric heat and a small duck pond with circulating water. The little lady wants me to build something like this:

So that we can look at this:

And I think we should also build a little smoke house while we're at it.

And there's the whole algae thing from the duck poop. Yeah, it's gonna be fun.
