Heh, heh, heh...........
Just stepped off the scale. Today's milestone was 20lbs. Yep, I've lost 20lbs. in just 37 days!
I realize that getting sick had a minor role in this, but the BIGGEST reason is clearly the fact that my diet has changed a bit (actually, it's changed a $hitload) in the last few weeks. I'm holding steady at 1,800 calories a day, instead of 3,000 to 4,000 calories. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner right on schedule. A few healthy snacks in between, too.
Couple that with a bit of indoor exercise, and a very short walk everyday, and there it is. TWENTY POUNDS!!! GONE!!! That's over 3 points on the BMI scale.Just 11 more pounds to go, and I'll weigh as much as I did in 1985! (That's when I chained myself to a desk.)
Did I mention that I can wear my belt three notches tighter?
No more skipping meals or eating big late at night for THIS kid! No more large boxes of Cheez-It Crackers gone in one sitting. No more 2" thick peanut butter sandwiches. An 8oz. Ovaltine is almost as good as a 24 oz. Ovaltine. And a glass of V-8 can be almost as refreshing as a glass of Coke.
Yep, I've had a lobster roll or two in the last month. But only one at a time, now, with much less mayo. And NO FRIES. I cut WAAAAAY back on the cheese, too. And the bacon as well.
And now it's a 6oz. tenderloin instead of one or two 16oz. tenderloins covered in Bernaise sauce. Did you know that a "portion" of almost anything is 4oz - not 16?
Did I mention that I can now bend over and tie my shoes without groaning?
Two cups of coffee a day at most. Not six or eight cups. Two. I cut back on the sugar, and I now use non-fat half-and-half instead of light cream.
Did I mention that I can see my feet again? Without a mirror?
Now, the squirrels get ALL of the peanuts! I was able to head out for a sandwich with a friend this week. I ate half, and was full. I brought the other half home. That's the first "doggy bag" I've held in 25 years....
I think someone is breaking into my house at night for the sole purpose of stretching all of my sweatshirts.
The doc says I can hit the swimming pool in another month. Summer's coming - where's my surfboard?
Did I mention that I actually FEEL lighter?
The long-term game plan is........eat right during the week, pigout (in moderation) one day every other weekend, and live long enough to read the obituaries of everyone who doesn't like me!
I'm hungry. Time for a cup of minestrone (with NO grated cheese on top) and a glass of water.
