    Default Wildlife Report

A couple of minutes ago, I noticed a few of my squirrel buddies hanging out near my kitchen window, patiently waiting for the peanuts or peanut butter sandwich pieces I toss out for them.

So as I look over to the peanut butter, that damned unopened 21 oz. can of Planters Deluxe Mixed Nuts (made with PURE SEA SALT!) that I got before the holidays, was staring me right in the face. Well, my doc told me to keep away from nuts (so why am I logged in here? ) and seeds at least 'till I get straightened out, and that can has been tempting the hell out of me for the last couple of weeks..........

I opened up the window, and the whole gang of about a dozen squirrels assembled. Yep, I tossed out the contents of that can of nuts and my pals went wild! Cashews, almonds, pecans, Brasil nuts, Macadamias......... It's good to see the little fellas have a little variety in their diets!

So, what did YOU feed your squirrels today?

So that's the sucking sound I heard. It was the squirrels drinking out of the pond to wash down all that salt.

I had one of those corn cob feeders once upon a time but it attracted cats who wanted the squirrels. I just let them take care of themselves now. They did taste better when they were corn fed though...

Just think how good they'd taste after a steady diet of Mixed Nuts packed in Sea Salt! You wouldn't even have to salt the little buggers! & everyone knows how much healthier Sea Salt is for you...just sayin'

    Funny man.

Actually, I was packing up some stuff to take over to my other place a couple of days ago, and I counted and boxed up ....... ready for this?

18 frying pans; 7 skillets; 4 griddles; 22 sauce pans (16 oz. to 8 quart); and 15 stock pots (2 qt. to 48 qt. sizes - the larger ones are mostly alluminum) - most with their own lids.

Camp? You're fixin' to cook up some squirrel, huh? Gee, I'm sorry. I don't own any SQUIRREL pots.

Actually I think the way you "bait" the little buggers is quite cool. If TSHTF & you need food those little tree rats are going to be quite trusting, aren't they?

I've had the red squirrels destroy my camp several years ago but I have never had any troubles with the gray squirrels. I'm guessing thats what Ken is feeding.

Ted, a buddy of mine, a gynecologist , had an old vintage mint-condition Mercedes Benz stored away in a detached garage at his home. About 15 years back, he woke up to some very loud sirens coming up his driveway, and looked out his window as the garage was being consumed in flames. It seems that some of them little rascals had chewed through the wiring of that Mercedes and started their own campfire........

And there's a lesson to be learned here!!!

..........If you're gonna' hang onto a German car for its collectors value, you should stick to BMWs and Porsches!

My neighbor had an older model Mercedes in her garage. She went out and started it, it backfired, and caught fire. Have you ever tried to push a Mercedes equipped with air suspension? That hasn't been running for a while? That has settled on the garage floor? Fortunately, we got the fire out with a couple of extinguishers.
