    Default Something for the Vets

I was told that Applebees is providing free meals tomorrow to Veterans. I checked their website and sure enough they are!

    http://www.applebees.com/vetsday/#identification

There is a listing of the meals that will be provided, looks good to me. So if you are a vet and near an Applebees, feel free to stop by

Glad to see this! I don't qualify for a freebie, but I'll visit Applebees as a way of saying "thanks!"

Bet that offer isn't valid in AK. We never get the good deals.

Yeah I know but like last night I went to Lowes to buy an electric fireplace. Online it was marked down fron $449.99 to $358.99. I get there and they have one left but was still $449.99 so I said "online it is on sale what the heck?" They responded with "that's a lower 48 sale." That is just one of many instances that has happened. So I would not be surprised if Applebees here didn't honor that promotion. Like subway the $5.00 foot long....HA it's $6.00 up here.

That's why I included the phone numbers. I'd call for you, but it's a local call for you.

Well thanks for the info. I think I can call, I guess. Not like I will use it though. Gotta work tomorrow then have a Union Meeting on Base. Will be a late night with pizza to eat I'm sure.

An interesting fact, at least in New Jersey, Lowes actually offers that 10 % discount every day of the year. It is not advertised, you just need to ask the clerk at check out. It helps me feed my "sawdust" habit

What? How's a guy supposed to know this stuff? Home Depot and Lowes offer an every day 10% discount?

Doug - Go back and ask for the discount. If customer service won't do it then ask for a manager.

Do you know how much stuff I've bought and I didn't know about the discount!? (walks off kicking chat).

No big deal. You wouldn't cheat a program that helps active military and military veterans, would you?
