What happened to you really sucked.
Here is a real story of a car theft that ended "one for the good guys"

About 8 years ago, I was meeting an informant at the Woodbridge Mall (Woodbridge NJ) a very busy mall in North New Jersey. I left my US Gov vehicle in the parking lot. After my meeting I walked back through the parking lot and noticed 2 punks very intent on opening the windows of my car, in fact I watched as one window was broken. As luck would have it, I was not carrying a fire arm, just an ASP baton. As I walked towards them, I flicked it open. They must have heard the movement and rushed me (these were not amateurs) as I dodged to the side to protect my flank, I stumbled and fell to the ground. I heard them laugh as the started to "put the boot" to me (fortunately the dumb a**'s were wearing cheap sneakers). They both got in a couple licks before I broke first ones ankle, and then the others ankle with the baton from my ground position. They lost interest in me and were whining and hobbling away. So as to make the occassion more memorable, I gave them matching elbow fractures. I collapsed my baton, got in my car and left them crying on the pavement. I did not call the local PD, I figured I taught them enough of a lesson. I am actually happy that I was not armed, I would not have been able to give them a learning experience

So sometimes good things do happen

If you happen to find out who they are, just bring them along to the next jamboree. We can show them how cotton pants can be used to catch sparks or how to rub to sticks or leg bones together to make fire. We can even let Equus help them with some hawk throwing.

Thanks EVERYONE for the good words and even the jokes tossed in I really needed that I am just grateful that it was just "stuff" taken and all of that with one exception CAN be replaced. Thankfully there was no damage to wifes jeep. OR to wife or campus security had they seen it. Their security is retired old geezers That would take an hour to shuffle the 100 yard dash

OS you can include that first aid kit since it IS for "HIGHWAY EMERGENCIES" and is NOT camping gear. Or list it as "personal Medical equipment". Or even since you are EMS it Is Work Related equipment. Don't let them get away with a technicality just so it benefits them.

Good point! I'll have to recheck with her agent. I have a diferent carrier on my jeep because of age it fits in a "classic" catagory. Plus I have a wierd policy i only have liability on the jeep (thinking of changing that) but have $10,000. on contents INCLUDING firearms Etc, covers ALL contents. Up to $10k

Well talked to the cops again today. No clues on our burglary, But they have had 9 more in Evansville same M.O. (always wanted an excuse to say that) But again no witnesses or anything. Cops said the odds of getting anything back is less that 5%. The insurance company offered me ( after $500 deductable) $ 375.00 Thinking about telling them where to put the check!!!

Thanks Rick I appreciate that. One "good" thing I guess is they goy MY stuff and thought great score and left other people alone. Some of the students there are "welfare" families and living day by day and a burglary ( loss of books whatever) would be devistating for them. While I'm by no means rich I am fairly comfy and while pissed and annoyed I can take the loss easier than many.

And you stated the most important part early on. Your wife didn't walk upon it happening and she wasn't injured. That's the up side if there is one.

They didn't fingerprint the car!!???? What the hell do we pay taxes for?? Or are they just lazy SOB's? If they can't or won't do what they are paid to do then perhaps we shouldn't pay them as much as we do. Am I pissed? you bet! I got that same crap when i was held up a gun point in front of my own home. The prep handled my wallet, when I picked it up I put it in a zip lock bag so the technition could take prints. 2 months later .... nothing! How do they expect to solve crimes?
