Default Home Made Dutch Oven for Hiking

I stumbled upon these instructions for making various kinds of baking ovens for backpacking and hiking. Some are old favorites and some are pretty novel. There are also some recipes and my favorite instructions on how to tell the temperature of a camp fire. All in all a good document. And, yes Sarge, it's from the Boy Scouts. Australian Boy Scouts.

I couldn't get the link to work. I think it was because of it being .pdf and Windows Vista has compatibility problems with Adobe.

If you happen to use Firefox as your web browser you might look at the Foxit Reader add on. I got tired of Windows/Adobe incompatibilities and added Foxit Reader. I haven't had a problem since. It's free, too.

Okay, I installed the new reader as every time I click on the link I get the Adobe screen & my computer freezes up! Do I have to disable Adobe or is there something I need to use to read it?

I have the latest FireFox. I just was lazy using Windows Explorer because I was used to it. Using Fire Fox right now and was able to access the link.

Once you install Foxit Reader it should automatically open a .pdf file for you if you click on the link. You don't have to do anything to Adobe.

Or, you can open Foxit Reader and select any document to view.

But it should open a link automatically for you. Is it not opening the document?

As soon as I click on it the Adobe Acrobat screen pops up then everything freezes! How do I use Foxit to"select any document? It simply pulls up the "My Documents" screen & U don't have the linl in there!

You might try uninstalling Foxit Reader and installing it again. Frankly, I don't know why you are having a problem. I upgraded to 3.0 today and it works fine. (I know. That doesn't help you).

Adobe was always locking up on me if I opened a third or fourth document. I'd have to reboot. I haven't had any problems since I went with Foxit Reader.

You can look through their forum to see if there are any helps.

    Cool Ok for now.

I had my wife visit the site on her computer & she opened it up with Adobe, no problem. Then we transferred it to my computer via jump drive & it's stored as well as been printed out for future reference. I may have to get rid of Adobe, I don't know yet!
