Yep. I couldn't find a brake drum. The wok is doing great. After a dozen firings it's not melting or showing any signs.

That is great!!! Nice out of box thinking. I just don't want to be around when your wife starts looking for the hair dryer.

    Great job!!!!

I'm good for a while. Big hair and all, she has two dryers. However, thanks for the concern.

You two are shameless. One kills detestable creatures and the other defends them. How did you two get together?

Hey Crash, before I forget to ask........

Do the floor mats on the 2009 Winnebago Vectra you're testing seem a bit too small? Mine do.

Darn!!!! Why did we agree to make our own modifications if we were keeping them????

See? You must have missed the post that said I don't have to do anything and I still get paid. Did you see that? Use the Search tool. Wait! What's the matter with me? I'm doing something. Dang it! Just answer the question.

A couple of things I would do differently or may change are: The pipes for the blower and ash catcher are too long. They could be shortened to about half the length.

Using the wok made it lighter than using a brake drum. Making it transportable. If I shorten the pipes it would be even better.

The hair dryer on low speed is all that is needed. A foot switch would be nice. On high speed it just blows your coals out of the wok. On low it'll melt your steel. I ruined my file knife by not keeping a close eye on it.

Like most things, it's a learning process.

Check out this guys tomahawks made from ball pein hammers.
