They Have Names

My Sweetie went out and picked up our 2 Ducks this morning while I broke my butt in the garden. :innocent: http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...ad.php?t=11513

When she got there, there were 3 little ducks, not 2. Of course, she was worried that the 3rd. one would get lonely all by itself, so now we have 3 ducks.

I was talking to Sarge, :phone: and we were talking about how we name our pets. And then I looked at them ducks...............

There's a black one, a yellow one, and one that's both black and yellow. Nobody has any idea (yet) of what kinda' ducks they are. But they do need names, right? :idea:

It does not look like there will be any roasted duck for you! You even got them a little pool? Ha! Yep, she got you with the 'just do it and apologize later' one!

I am generally one that can see the humor in most things. However, I see no humor in naming a duck, Rick. That ain't even funny.

SHE has decided to keep them in a large cat carrier 'till they get a bit bigger. With newspaper on the floor. And a dog bowl with water. And a dish with food. And a floodlamp about 18" from the side of the carrier to keep 'em warm. :innocent:

They were in the enclosed deck yesterday, but when the temp got around 65* last night, SHE thought they might get too cold, so SHE brought 'em inside and put 'em in one of the bathrooms, and cranked up the heat.

I had to go to Home Depot this morning, and when I came back, they were all swimming in the bathtub while SHE cleaned their little house.

Then they were back out on the deck, with the "heat lamp" turned on again. And then SHE cleaned the bathtub.

By 2:00 this afternoon, SHE had cleaned up their little house THREE TIMES TODAY, and changed their water, and gave them fresh newspaper, and filled up their food. THREE TIMES!

The novelty of all of this is gonna' wear off soon. SHE is bound to get sick of it, and I am gearing up for some Duck Confit! :sneaky2:

I agree with Crash. That is what I named three of my rabbits. The scouts loved it when I took Lunch with me to summer camp to work on the wilderness survival merit badge.

It seems I'm expected to build a little fenced-in "duck yard" complete with a little coop with electric heat :sneaky2: and a small duck pond with circulating water. The little lady wants me to build something like this:
