Default A hey from little dark norway :)

Just felt like this was one of the better wilderness/survival forums I managed to find, so I decided to register and hopefully I might be able to learn some .. and maybe even give some away.
I am an 18 year old guy from Norway, and I have lived 1 minute away from the forest my entire life. My family has a house on an island several kilometers from any society, so I've been thought a lot about fishing and hunting (as my parents are good at both). I've found myself to dislike "new age" weapons, and I stick to bow and arrow and a good old knife, usually. I have superior night sight, as I dislike the light (it gives me headache), so I tend to hunt at night. I've practiced martial arts since I was 6, so I am in top shape and thanks to my quick reflexes I've managed to survive in the wilderness every time I've put myself to the test. At the moment I am saving up money to buy new equipment and hopefully try to test myself outside Norway, in much bigger and actually unknown nature. Therefor I hope to find some good advices and such in here. (Oh and by the way .. I don't know anything at all about plants, so I hope to learn about it in here. I only have experience hunting, but it's probably not enough for more than a few months...)

    Anyway, hey all

That's cool .. Well, I am from Fredrikstad .. it's a bit far from Stavanger, and it's much warmer. We have less forests and mountains here though..

Welcome to the forum. Do a google for Sturtevants Edible Plants of the World. You should be able to find a free copy on the net. It doesn't have a lot of detail but it does have quite a bit of information on food sources in Norway and neighboring countries.

EDIT...Try this. There is a whole bunch of books that can be downloaded.

If you scroll down, you'll find Sturtevants Edible Plants of the World.
