    Default Pictures

These are from my December 2008 deer hunt in Prince William Sound.

The deer is a Prince William Sound black tail which do not get as large as Kodiak black tails.

The one of me standing in front of the boat was taken right after I fell off the boat into the 37*F water.

The last picture is of a really nice sunset over Port Wells.

That look on my face was because my friend was laughing so hard and the fact that he took the picture before he asked if I was alright.

I was bring the boat into the beach. I had given it a little throttle then shut the motors down and pulled them out of the water. As the boat was drifting into the beach I climbed out on the gunnel's and started making my way forward so I could jump to the beach and catch the boat and stop it from running up to far and getting stuck. If you look on the side of the boat you can see a piece of rope sticking out over the walk. I didn't see it, caught my foot on it and tripped. The water was less then 2 feet deep but really, really, really cold. After getting out of the water and recovering from the shock of it, I even laughed about it. It's only the second time I've fallen off of that boat.

Crash, imagine being in that boat in 10 foot seas. She is affectingly referred to as the "biggest little boat in the sound"

She's about 20 ft. long and 7 ft. wide at the top of the gunnel's. She has a flat bottom and only draws about 8 inches sitting idle. Powered by twin Yamaha 4 stroke 60's. She has 70 gallons of fuel in 3 tanks. There are 2 bunks in the fo'c's'le. We don't have radar but we do have a high end marine GPS. Best of all, the cabin is heated.

20 ft? Flat bottom? Twin 60's? Ten foot seas? That'll keep you occupied.

I used to have an old (very old) 20 ft deep V center console. I was working the North American Windsurfing Championships - taking mark roundings. The wind was blowing about 35 knots, seas were BIG. When we left port, everybody was giving me carp about the old POS (old and heavy). Note: It was very calm when we left the docks. On the way back in nobody was laughing, as they mostly had flats boats. Deep V and 200 hp made it rather pleasant.
