    Thanks for the responses.
As a kid in Scotland we used to have seasons.
    Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.
You know it was all recognizable.
The snow we had was good clean fluffy snowball making snow, great for skiing, lasted for ages....then it was gone...until the next lot.
I last lived there 10 years ago, and one of the reasons I decided to give Australia a go was the that the climate, IMHO, had got down the toilet. We would have 9 months of cr@p weather, mushy, wet, sleet, cold, windy etc and 3 months of typically Scottish summer which meant we could have any season in the space of 5 minutes.
The thing that topped it all was when, after a normal dismal Autumn, Winter, Spring, time my (future) Aussie wife who I'd been filming with asked me when Summer would start.
I replied to her that the last two weeks had been it. There would be no more Summer.
She was distraught as she had been wearing jumpers and jackets ( having come from 40 degree heat) and was looking forward to stripping off.
    So was I!!
But seriously summer had retreated to about a weeks worth of 'decent' weather.
I got sick of it. I'd had 34 years of it and I moved to the heat.
    And 'boy' is that different!!!
It's a dog eat dog world out there
