Temps are at 8* right now, minus 10 or so windchill. good snow dumping about another 6-8 inches. Another storm on it's way for Tuesday and Wednesday. That one will drop anywhere from 9 inches to two feet of regular snow, more if that storm band hooks up with the local lake effect engine. or we might get just 6 inches... the meteorologists don't know any better than I do.

We have about 6" on the ground plus a small layer of ice,of course school has been called off,and the teen that I can't beat with a stick to help take care of the critters here has voluntarily taken the dogs out,and went out and checked on the other animals as well,go figure,LOL.
The snow is still falling, and the real ice is supposed to hit this afternoon, and they have extended the forcast to say that this will continue through tomorrow evening at least.

-19 F when I went to work this morning with 25+ mph winds. After two hours in a bucket truck (very little movement to generate body heat) with having to work with no gloves, I called the boss and told him I'm cleaning the INSIDE of the office today. I haven't done this much dusting in years.

Is it normal for you lot to have it SO cold with SO much snow or would you say it is colder and snowier than 'normal'?
    Thanks.

Well I can see that darlin', when I was his age, half that gear would wind up stashed behind a rock somewhere (now that I'm a little older mind you, I'm grateful for all that gear when I have it, lol)

    Thanks.

around here "normal" would be about 1-3" at a time, usually doesn't cause problems, but this year, they are cutting back on the road services because of the economy, they have been by here once in the past 2 days, normally they would have been 5 or 6 times by now.

Cold is pretty normal, but we did drop below 0 last week and it had been over a decade I think they said since it had been that cold here.

That storm is on its way here....up to 30 cm of snow and blowing winds. Good night to catch up on some reading....and Arsey, that is normal for around here. Should be great snowshoing after.
