    Default The Dead...

Just found out the surviving members of the Grateful Dead are getting back together and touring this spring as "The Dead". They will be playing at Shoreline Ampitheatre in the Bay area for my birthday. I am going to go. Many years ago I saw them many, many times. I just watched some video of them, playing at a fundraiser last year, and they sounded great. They are supposedly very excited about getting together again. I am looking forward to it. It should be a long strange trip! If anyone cares to join me, just look for me there....I'll be the guy with a beard wearing a tie-die shirt.

given the condition of the remaining members of GD...you could be right..
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

I have seen Bobby and Phil but too young for Jerry. The Allman Brothers are in the middle of a 15 night run in NYC for their 40th Anniversary, a lot of guest each night. Eric Clapton is rumored to be sitting in soon but the last show is rumored to have Bobby and Phil.

The Brothers are from where i live, a lot of musical heritage here with them, Otis Redding, Capricorn Records and others. Duane and Barry are actually buried about 1/2 mile from my old apt.

I had some friends at the show in Oct, the first Dead show in a while and i heard good things.

I miss Jerry Garcia. He was just an incredible performer.

What's the new tour named? "Rising From The Dead?"

My last concert was The Eagles - "The Geriatric Tour" as they called it. Still a great show.

One before that was Alice Cooper - first time I saw him was in '73 and he's still awesome.

Last summer, Grand Funk Railroad - the AMERICAN BAND!

Clapton sat in last night with the Brothers, played Layla and Dreams among others. Word on the street is that it was epic.
