Thread: 3 days, No cigs, No Beer

You're both doing SO well, it can be tough but stick with it, its definately worth it.

The first 3 days or so the chemicals are getting out of your immediate system (though tar on your lungs takes longer). After that, habit and cravings decline over the next couple of months.

If you feel weak one day and succumb to a quick smoke - don't give up, just allow yourself to not need any more and keep going with your plan to take back control of your life.

Tobacco is a very powerful plant, widely missunderstood esp by westerners.

Well done for even taking this first step, its difficult but you are on the right track.

Here's something to try. Take the money for the smokes you would have bought and put it in a jar or can. Do it every day. One pack, two packs, doesn't matter - do it every day without fail. Don't count it or keep track of it. Do this for a period of say 6 months. Then treat your self to something that you've been wanting (NO NOT CIGARETTES) but couldn't really afford. When you open that can and have over $1000 it'll kind of put things in a different light. Not only will you feel better, but you'll have some extra $$$ in your pocket.

Good idea! Been doing that actually... i just got real twitchy today... Oh well, I have such a headache right now that I don't even want to look at a cigarette, much less actually light up! Take the good with the bad, and a cup of coffee to help things roll along!

Yah, that's for sure - unfortunately!

    B4 I quit I weighed 165. I now weigh 2XX!

Still, I'd never trade it for smoking. Can't stand the odor now.

Day one for me. I had to wait til I got back to work. I have quit many times before, once for four months. For me the first couple days are the easiest, I guess because I'am all fired up. It's about day 5 or 6 that I usually backslide.

I dont think pot is addictive at all.I smoked it off and on for 20 years.Never got hooked.Like Willie Nelson said on 60 minutes, moderation is the key.Its a hypacrytical society to keep alcohol and tobacco legal and send people to jail or prison for smoking it.I did not ever enjoy being stoned, unless I was by myself so I didnt have to deal with conversation. But a few hits and put it out would get me so motivated and so creative. And patience,I could put up with anything.I quit messin with it only because of havin to go to get it at peoples houses who may have been set up by cops, canines ect.Its illegal and Im too damn old to take chances.Dealers, many also sell moonshine and fight bulldogs and cocks ect. ect.Bottom line is I dont break the law except for exceeding the speed limit occationally and dont worry if the cops get behind me or knock on the door.
