1.83 where I live in Connecticut, but I use diesel, and you can find it for anywhere from 3.189 the last time I filled to 3.299. The crude oil bubble bursted at 147 and I think the slide will continue for a while. I think Crude will settle in at around 35 to 44 dollars a barrel or very close to those numbers. There was no foundation for 147 crude and well its going the other way, painful for those that needed 100 dollar a barrel, good for those that don't. In other words, Its not going to take a 120 dollars to fill the tank. We should still drill more in the US never the less and build more power plants and refineries. Would be worth it just for the construction jobs and jobs is what is needed.
I filled up yesterday for $ 1.91
a buck eighty here. I watched an MSNBC analyst last week and he cautioned that after the November 29th OPEC meeting they would begin to restrict production to drive up price. According to him their goal is between $100 and $125 a barrel. Consumption began to drop once the price passed $125 a barrel so they want to balance the most they can make and still keep usage high. Pure market driven economics. You gotta love being a sheik. Well, except for wearing the girly sheets.

I wish there was a way to reliably store large volumes of the stuff - having a years' worth would be grand, sometimes.
How long DOES gas sit before it starts to gel up?
It could be that the purpose of your life is merely to serve as a warning to others.
I've stored it for two years (forgot to rotate one year) and experienced no problems. I believe on year is the rule of thumb.
just not inside your gas tank though,I'd add an additive to that,I have seen some small engine carbs that were pretty well varnished before, nasty, some of them I managed to resurect a few and get them running again, took awhile and a lot of soaking in seafoam.

Thanks for the info. I am seriously considering storing up a little, just in case. I currently have a couple of 5gal containers tucked away, but would like to have enough to fuel up a couple times over, especially as we head into the winter. I have a small gasburning generator now (I'll tell ya about it in the next "what did you do this week"), and even though it is a real miser on fuel, I would still run out sooner or later. I prefer later.
So if I have a safe place for it, should I go for 1-2 55 gallon drums? Or are 10gal plastic containers the better way to go?

I use 5 gallon ventless cans. (used to have a 20 gallon can with pump when we had a boat).
Thanks to our oh-so-wonderful state gas taxes, gas is still $2.09 here.
On the bright side at least it has gone down a lot from earlier this year!![]()

Well this is just not right. Gas prices here have dropped (can't believe I'm even saying that) to .92.9cents/litre, which is still pretty close to $4. a gallon when you do all the conversions and multiplications etc (math? oh yeah, part of the axis of evil, math is) I'm thinking of those poor, destitute children in countries like Saudi Arabia and other places that I can't pronounce or spell, looking up at their daddy's with tears rolling down their cheeks from their big brown eyes when Daddy tells them they can only have 1 Rolls Royce when they graduate high school. C'mon people, we've gotta boost those prices back up or someone's gonna have to hold a telethon for those youngsters.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"
You'll have to do better than that. I was at the Atlanta Fish Market for dinner one evening last week when a chauffeur driven 2008 Rolls Royce Phantom pulled up. I was hoping it was going to be like a parade and the guy would throw hundred dollar bills like the old ladies throw candy but no luck.![]()
