How do you know what the media says is true? Most of the time it's wrong, in my opinion.

I don't trust the media either. I believe that the stories they present are mostly one sided. You just have to go out there and do you're own searching for information, and then make your own mind up about what's true and what's not. The exact words that the media uses can skew the intentions as well. And example given to me:

"He doesn't like ice cream" versus "He doesn't like the ice cream."

The first statement implies that the individual doesn't like ice cream at all.
The second statement implies that the individual doesn't like the particular ice cream at hand. Maybe it was chocolate ice cream and the individual likes starwberry...

Just the exclusion/inclusion of one simple word changes the whole meaning of a statement.

The media then, is not a source that I fully trust. If I want to know something bad enough, I'll do my own searching for multiple souces and then make up my own opinion or thoughts.

IMHO the media does not go around saying "they will not go for this" but insted say "they will fall for the spin "
Headlines might read in bold letters "She does not like ice cream" just before she talks to the workers at Bordens but down the page the will add ever so small that she is lactose intolerant.
