Another Telemarketer Nailed

I once had one of these "Windows Help Support" scammers call me... as an aside, I really wish they would learn that "Windows" is the product, not the company.... so I asked him which version of windows I was running. He goes "7?".

I say "Wrong!" and hang up. And he flaming well called me back! Wanted me to do stuff with computer to give him access, which was of course something of a non-starter, but I didn't want to hang up again, because I figured he was going to keep trying to call, and while I wasn't going to answer again, who wants that? So I flat out told him I wasn't doing that, and he tells me to go check out their website, which is admittedly very glitzy and well put together.

"So, you've looked at our webpage?"

"yes I have"

"now you will do what I ask?"

"nope!"

"Why not, sir? You've seen the webpage"

"I sure have. I also googled your organizations name. I found your lovely webpage, and a few dozen saying 'don't cooperate, this is a scam', and describing exactly what you've been saying and doing"

And that's when he hung up on me.

Once again the good guys win. I received a letter today from Indiana's Attorney General that they obtained a judgement against a company for violating the do not call list. These guys started calling non-stop about a free security system until I finally blocked their number. I reported them to the state, as I'm sure many did, and the state filed suit against them. The judgement was for $5,156,032.40. I doubt the state will collect anything but, hey, who knows. Tired of telemarketers? Report them. The system does work.

When someone like that calls me, I just calmly lay the phone down, leave them talking and walk away. You waste my time, I'll be glad to waste your's !

If I could find Rachel at Credit Card Services...and think up a punshment....I tie her out in the sun, with raw hide.... on a ant hill.....and have a phone ringing in her ear.....all day.

Latest one is the relief from student loans.......Oh brother....did they get that wrong.

The sad part about it is most of the calls are robo calls and if you answer it just verifies that yours is a good number. Then you get sold to other telemarketers that robo call and so on and so on. I have caller ID. If I don't know you then you are not going to be answered. If it's truly important then leave a message.

Wait a minute, Hunter. Let's see what Rachel looks like first. If she's good looking then just let me make love to her all day. That would be waaaaaay worse than the raw hide and ant hill thingy. You know the old joke where the guy died and wound up in a bedroom with Raquel Welch. He thanked God profusely for being in heaven but admitted he didn't understand how he made heaven come true for Raquel. "Sadly," said God. "She didn't make Heaven." So it's all relative.
