Vietnam Era USAF Liner Coat
Question....Is the liner worn with the wool next to the skin or the cotton shell next to the skin? I found it worn both ways on the interweb. It was my Father's time to pass it on. She says it's itchy! Putting together something warm for my 11 yr. old Daughter for an upcoming canoe trip.

I would suggest you look for something in fleece. It's much lighter and offers the same dry insulation as wool. She won't itch either. Wet wool will insulate better but it also stays wet much longer. If she does take a dunk then the wet wool will be much heavier in the water. Keep a back up in a dry bag and if she gets wet fleece will dry overnight unless it's raining. I don't favor wool in boating applications. Just my 2 cents.
