DPMS AR question

I suppose one of you might know.

I find DPMS Panther (all models) listed on the California ban list. What I am wondering is whether the Panther Oracle I see mentioned so often and the Oracle are separate models. They seem to make a CA compliant oracle which I would be fairly interested in if I weren't in the market for my lathe. I know it is not of the highest quality, but neither, then, is my budget.

I guess I'm going to try to talk to a local FFL who deals in this maker, but it looks like DPMS got them importable by a technicality. It also seems that the DPMS ban is ambiguously vague, and could probably not be upheld if brought to court.

I could build my own for about the same from an unquestionable reviever, but this budget rifle is about as cheap as I could do that anyway.

The Oracle is on the lower end of DPMS's quality. I am not sure if it was made exclusively for the residents of
CA or just a lower budget rifle for most shooters.
