Another TV Show Casting

Hi,

My name is Kenya Brading and I am a Casting Assistant at Metal Flowers Media. We have cast TV shows including: Storage Wars, The Colony, One Man Army, Ice Road Truckers, The Hunt, Bar Rescue and Frontiermsmen. We are currently casting a show for a major cable network and we are looking for people to apply for the show who have wilderness survival skills and want to escape the rat race for 30 days, living off the grid with a small group of people in the wild. We don\'t have any set dates but filming will take place sometime next year - the dates will be determined by the chosen applicants\'s availability. How are these dime-a-dozen off-the-grid-rat-race-escaping-get-away-from-civilization reality shows "groundbreaking"?
They cant all be. Been done too many times.

First, you take a shovel and stick it in the ground. Push firmly down with your foot. Then flip the soil. Ground breaking. Simple really.

If the ground breaking society works, the show will be pretty boring. I'll bet there will be a good dose of back stabbing and machiavellian maneuvering in order to garner ratings.
Yeah, guess I won't be applying either.

This sounds like a cross between The Colony and Out of the Wild. Doesn't surprise me though maybe I'm too close to the situation. This is what happens when the bar for 'success' is lowered almost to the ground. A lot of these shows aren't 'Duck Dynasty' or 'CSI' successful but they don't have to be since they're so cheap to produce (relative to the alternatives).

Pete, if you add 'social-experiment' to the phrase you posted, that's how you get the 'groundbreaking' part in today's TV lingo. Add something like 'in-Vanuatu' to that and again, groundbreaking.
