I would submit that if a car driver suddenly finds himself surrounded by thugs on dozens and dozens of racing, swirving-in-and-out motorcycles, in front of him, behind him, on his driver's side and on his passenger's side, back and forth, he might well inadvertently cut one off, or even bump a motorcyclist's fender, etc., etc.

I do not know if that happened in the NYC case, but when surrounded on all sides, it is very difficult to see in all directions at once. Just by the act of trying to avoid one set of motorcycle thugs, one might easily then "cut off" another set of motorcycle thugs. And then the fun begins.

Just my observation.

Our society has become so accustomed to avoiding personal responsibility that it often automatically overlooks the obvious when assigning blame in such events.

The bikers were out there with one goal in mind. They were looking to create chaos and to terrify the public. The POS who became a speed bump for the Range Rover is not an innocent bystander - he's a lowlife criminal with a long history of violent crimes and motor vehicle recklessness. Speed Bump has no redeeming social value, and I can only hope that the Range Rover didn't suffer damage when it ran over that piece of sh!t.

Each and every rider KNEW what he/she was involved in, and to a greater or lesser degree became part of a lawless violent gang that rode for the sole purpose of placing the public in fear - or worse. It's too bad that they didn't pull their little stunts off in the path of an oncoming convoy of 18-wheelers.

I have no tolerance or sympathy for thugs like this. They have big ba11s in large numbers and are whimpering cowards one on one. The world would be a better place if everyone sharing their mentality got crushed to death under a moving vehicle. We should simply accept and treat them as what they are - moving targets.

my question in a state that mandates that you can't have more than 7 rounds in the magazine and dislikes the thought of a lawful gun ownership for self defense would get to the situation within the 6 minutes, (taken on account the video looks like its no stop and runs for about 6 minutes). I know they were on the freeway and at some points going pretty fast but I would have thought the 911 operator could have instructed the driver of the land rover to the nearest cop and this is a crazy thought... having a cop drive to intercept them.

Apparently there were off duty cops in the bike riders, yet to be verified,but in the news cast.

@JRLG - I once had 911 on the phone following a drunk that was literally all over the state road and both shoulders. She even forced an ongoing ambulance to the shoulder because she was in their lane. It took at least 10-12 minutes and the next town before police could stop her. The 911 operator I had on the line did not have the same radio frequency as county or state police and could only talk to the local police department.

I'm sure that 6 minutes seemed like an eternity to that couple in the SUV.

At least one undercover officer was riding with them and did nothing to intervene.

This went on fro Battery Park aaaaaaaall the way up to George Washington bridge. I know that drive well. There were many opportunities for cops to intercept them and, at the very least, put up barricades ahead. None of their MO made sense to me...I guess we'll find out.

He probably acts the same way when he's on duty.
