Unknown track in snow....

Hi,

I am new to this forum and track identification in general. We bought a piece of land in March (upstate NY) and saw this track on my first walk out.

Sorry I didn't include a standard to size it, but if memory serves me it was probably about 4-5 inches front to back. At first I thought it was a black bear especially since i've found tons of bear scat (that's what this is correct?)

But now that i've done some online research for the track, i'm not convinced. Please help!

Pretty hard to give a definitive answer, not much around as reference.
Only one track?.....or a trail.....?

Could be bear. Hard to tell without a pic of the whole trail. Its good to keep in mind that melted out snow tends to exaggerate the size of the original track.
