Allow me to present for your reading pleasure, a couple of good reasons to not hang meat in trees:

For all who think it's a good idea, I'd recommend NOT trying to take the meat back from the wolverine. It's awfully good of you to want to share with your woodland brethren, but they're not nearly as good at sharing in return. Anyone want me to look up lynx? See that surferboy? Us ol' bushrats can find links too (and lynx, too) No worries about the bears, kids, although I still maintain that the higher you hang your meat the farther the scent is going to travel. So, if brother bear comes around the camp, smelling meat, and then can't get at it, well he's gonna want some kind of recompense for his travel troubles isn't he.
