This is a short rant about the debates tonight. A nonpartizan rant!

One of our local stations is running a poll on the evening news wanting to know who will win the debate tonight!

The debate is to air opinions and expose plans, reveal philosophy and allow an informed choice.

It is not a sporting event with a point spread.

Has our media degenerated to the level that they no longer have the ability to tell the difference?

Has the station of the presidency lowered itself to a level of dignity just below the Superbowl.

I love my country, what is left of it, but I am sickened by the political process now in operation and the shear ignorance of the people that are supposed to be passing unbiased and intelligent information to us.

Nothing surprises me any more because I have very low expectations of the media.
I filter everything I hear and try to do my homework on my priority issues.

There's debates on here just about every night and ..... oooooooh. You mean. Well, never mind.

What's wrong with a poll on the bestest debaiter? Sort of a mini election. It would be good if they gave the winner some title like Master Debater so folks would know who's good and who's gooder.

No titles. People tend to shorten them, and in this case it would not be good.

Yes. And nowadays, most polls are about this useful.....

In my younger years I was a member of the media. The answer to your question is, Yes.

For what it's worth, that went really well last night. Feel better this morning...more hopeful that there's a chance.

We have an intense senate race going on here as well.
The hypocrisy of the media in this state is sickening.

We have had non-stop polical drama since the last election and recalls....etc......
Lots of people have just tuned it out......

LLT47, yeah I'm with you there. Not just hypocrisy in the media. Downright bias.
The media is responsible for setting up a lot of self-fulfilling prophecies.
