I go around kicking nasty old guys in the head all the time, then I go out and let rattlesnakes bite me so I can have a vision. The vision usually involves flashing red lights and a nice stretcher with clean white sheets.

Smok, My single largest shift in my life came from reading "Burning Daylight", by Jack London. It is not a children's book. It is for men in their 40's and 50's and getting straight about what matters, (here is a clue it ain't money). It is available on line. The nearest movie theater is 85 miles away.

Actually the very 1st movie made starring the same actor as the same character was a film called "The Born Losers" where peaceful ole' Billy Jack Beat-up a bunch of bikers, finally shooting their leader right between the eyes. I didn't get to see the final Billy Jack film, but I did see another movie he'd made after that called :"The Master Gunfighter" which desperately tried to do what the others had also failed to do and that was "show a peaceful message" while beating the crap out of people and later on killing them.

Everybody I knew at the time, like me, watched it for the martial arts stuff more than the message which seem to have been obscured by all the violence that the Billy Jack character perpetrated.

The movie that made a change in my life was. The Beatles first movie. Before that a sunday at the movie matinée was 15c to get in, 10c for popcorn and 10c for a drink. After that movie it was 4.25 to get in and 1. for popcorn and 1. for a drink.

Ya, Ya, I also remember 10C a gal for gas and 9c a pack for Lucky Strikes.

"To Be a Man" was the book that I remember from my youth. I do not remember who wrote it. I remember the punch line was take responsibility for your actions. After that I would think, What will I think about my decision in this matter, if I look back in 20 years from now and be honest with myself. Kept me from doing a lot of dumb things over time.
