Every morning in the summertime in 2010 (after college graduation) I would do a 5 mile bike ride to where the James River was in my hometown. I'd sit down in front of the water, usually the same spot every day, close my eyes and think about all I wanted to accomplish that day. Even simple tasks became deep thought, but not complex. For me, it was just a good way to meditate and come up with a POA regarding daily interactions. The more I needed to get done, the longer I let my mind clear. Being in a place you love and makes you feel good is a great way to get plans moving forward.
When I have split shifts at work (4 hours of break) instead of going out snowboarding, I'll take a several mile hike up into Arapahoe National Forest and relax. Being out in the mountains and wilderness is my healthiest way of stress relief and it isn't frustrating at all. It actually helps with my PATIENCE! (Lord knows I need more of it!)
