Quick question

Which would have the least amount of stretch? Single line of paracord, a 2-cord twist, or a three line braid. All would be made out of paracord.

None of them. Paracord is static cord. It doesn't have any stretch.

I have a 2 stand twist of papacord about 30 feet long. I tied it to a sturdy tree and I was pulling it as hard as I could and it had some stretch? I was able to act like I was falling over and it would spring me back up? Would the fake paracord do this? It has the outer shell and 7 inner strands, but one of the strands is not colored.

Neither Commercial 550 cord nor MIL-C 550 (Type III) has any stretch to it. Since it's designed to tie you directly to an overhead canopy you want it stretchless (is that a word?) if you know what I mean. Does a single length of the cord stretch? If so, then it isn't true Commercial 550 or MIL-C 550 cord. What may be happening is the twist you put in has taken up some slack and you are pulling the slack out of it. But paracord is static and won't stretch.

Ok, I'm assuming it's the slack in the twist. If both were done properly, which would theoretically have less slack, two-strand twist, or a three-strand braid? Or das that go back to the first response, done properly, neither would have slack?

I would think the more braids you add the more slack you would have. I suppose it depends on the type of braid you use, too. I wouldn't go bungee jumping off a bridge with it though. They'd probably pick you up in two pieces.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the help, Rick. I'd never think to going to go bungee jumping with it, but thought about maybe using it for my suspension line on a hammock.

I think it would work just fine for that. You won't need any stretch in for that either. The hammock material will probably give more that the cord will.
