My wife and I are freaking out!

As some of you know, the misses and I moved up to AK over a year ago from our homestead in Colorado at 8500ft.
We have had to work real jobs and now we are working in a great field doing solar and wind power, but we hate living on the road system!
We are renting a house and all we can think about is geting out to the woods. This is our second house we rented in AK we usually live in our Airstream during the summer and winter in a rental. The people in this area rent totally junk homes for outragous prices.
We are climbing out of our skin and are constantly prepping to get back out to the woods.
I guess I just needed to vent on this, I can't believe how much living like this costs! Thousands of dollars out the door! We don't even live in town, and we empty our dishwater bucket out the back door... people in the area are out of their minds and very few people even have a well, they pay to get water delivered! Then pay to get it removed from a holding tank! CRAZY!
The reason we are doing this is to get some cash together and get some property out in the sticks and build our cabin again. I don't know if we can wait that long. <sigh> We are difinately moving out of this weird little (anywhere USA town) come spring.

It's just a bump in the road Mountaintrekker, and you'll be out of there soon enough. Think of your goals and don't give up 'til you accomplish what you set out to do, or else you would have wasted your time in a place you hate.
It's easier to work when you know what you're working for, and you guys do.

Mountaintrekker, Tell them why people there have water delivered.......What is in the water there......? Anyway, sorry for your situation. Did the Property in America Close.....?

Thanks for the positive words, I just needed to vent a bit. I'm glad we are here and I'm thankful for what we have. Just frustrated...

Sourdough- The brilliant minds out here thought building homes out East End Rd. was a good idea even though most hit salt water when drilling and or hit very sulphrous mineral deposits. The water in most spots is not potable. Same with Diamond Ridge Rd. area and most of North Fork Rd. Profit is more important than sustainability I guess. I think that they were all selling to rich folks from California and Texas and thos people were only here a few months in summer so who would mind the inconvienence.
The property in America sold, but we financed the guy and the money comming in is slow and we are spending it for day to day stuff during the slow months, (which we are greatful to have) but we are steadily whittling away our nest egg.
Things will change, we have done much more with much less in the past.

I know where there is 40 acres on the Yetna river for sale. $40,000. With river access and it's right behind the Yetna Station Road House, and its not to remote. Its only 40 miles from the nearest road. 30 minute flight from the Willow airport or 1 hour by boat from Deshka landing in the summer or 2 hours by snowmachine in the winter. Deshka landing is less the an hour north of the quaint town of Wasilla.

If the paper is seasoned, you could trade all or an assignment of part of the note on the Sold property for a free & Clear property here.

Sourdough- Thanks for the offer, we do however need to get off the road system and back in a bit. Thank you though, just a little too close to Los Anchorage for us.
