Need advise on new GPS

I will use it for hunting/hicking and road travel what are the pros and cons? Choices : 1) Garmin eTrex vista HCx
2) Delmore PN-40

I have a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx that I use primarily for geocaching. I haven't tried using it on the road since I don't have any routable roads loaded on it. Here is my take:

What I like

• Color screen
• Good GPS signal - gets a fix quickly, haven't had any problems maintaining signal in the woods or buildings
• Battery life

Something to consider

• The location of the main control (the mini joystick on the front) almost requires you to use your left hand
• The included Mapsource software is pretty clunky. I usually use the Garmin browser plug-in when loading geocache points or DNRGarmin for downloading tracks, routes, and points.

GC, I use the Garmin etrex vista hcx here in Alaska and I have no complaints. I use mine for just about everything you can use a GPS for. It's great for finding my traps in the dark.

I don't have that model. Mine is a bit older. It's the eTrex original model.

You can go to google earth or any other map with GPS coordinates, pick a spot you want to go to and plug the coordinates into your GPS. It will take right to it. When I get out of the truck, I set the location as a waypoint just in case. I've never had to use it to get back to the truck but I have used it to find my camp at night a time or two.

I have been using the Delmore PN-40 at school for that past few days. I really like it so far, but I have only used it for the short term. I like that you can download the data and info for a cache from geocaching.com directly to the GPS.
I have not used it for hunting and since it is the school's, I probably won't.
I have a Lowrance H20, and the Delmore GPS seems to pick-up satellites better than it does.
